Tridents are the only weapon in Minecraft that can serve as both a melee and ranged weapon. This rare drop from the Drowned rivals the power of the most powerful swords in crossbows in the game. Though being a little tricky to get, it guarantees to never disappoint. However, with the right enchantments, you can push the potential of tridents in Minecraft even further.
In this article, Gurugamer is going to showcase the top 5 best enchantments for Tridents in Minecraft 1.19.
1. Impaling
Impaling is an exclusive enchantment for tridents, allowing it to deal extra damage each hit against aquatic mobs. Each level of Impaling adds 2.5 damage per hit, with the maximum being V, which equates to a 12.5 damage bonus.
This enchantment allows players to dispatch all aquatic mobs. This includes axolotls, dolphins, guardians, elder guardians, squid, glow squids, turtles and all variants of fish. However, Drowned do not count, as they are classified as undead instead of aquatic.
2. Riptide
Riptide is one of the more "unique" enchantments in the game. It can only be applied to tridents, which allows players to use the trident to move around faster underwater. Players can only throw Tridents enchanted with Riptide while standing in water, rainy weather, or underwater. The throw will launch the player alongside the item.
The formula for the number of blocks the trident throws the user is (6 × level) + 3 when in rain, snow, or standing in water, and (4 × level) + 3 while underwater.
3. Mending
Mending is a universally useful enchantment that can be applied to all kinds of gears with durability. It is even more popular than protection. With it active, the boots will automatically use the XP players earn in-game to repair themselves. Combine that with an XP farm and the boots would become indestructible. Getting Mending on all gears, including helmets, would remove the need for repair.
It counts as a treasure enchantment; it can be obtained from chest loot, fishing, or trading with a Librarian of any level. Players cannot obtain it from an enchanting table.
4. Channeling
Channeling is a trident enchantment that produces lightning. Players can summons a lightning bolt by throwing a channeling enchanted trident at a mob if there is currently a thunderstorm occurring.
By using this enchantment, players can change villagers into witches, creepers into charged creepers, mooshrooms into their opposite color and pigs into zombified piglins.
5. Loyalty
When a trident enchanted with Loyalty is thrown and comes into contact with any block or entity, it returns after a time interval to the player who threw it. Higher enchantments decrease the waiting time to return.
This enchantment allows players to use the throw attack without having to worry about retrieving their weapon.
