Finding treasure chests is the most important part of exploring a structure in Minecraft. They contain all kinds of loot, from resources, consumables to enchanted gears. There are some items that can only be found in treasure chests.

1. Enchanted Golden Apple
The Enchanted Golden Apple is a rare, uncraftable variant of the golden apple that has a much stronger effect. Below is the list of effects you can gain by consuming one:
- Absorption IV for 2 minutes.
- Fire Resistance I for 5 minutes.
- Regeneration level II (Java) or V (Bedrock) for 30 seconds.
- Resistance I (20% reduced damage from all sources except the void) for 5 minutes
Besides these effects, players can also use the enchanted apple to tame horses and speed the growth of baby horses. Feeding it to zombie villagers under the effect of weakness potion can also cure them and turn them back to normal.
This apple is the rarest spawn in the game, with a maximum of only 6.5% chance when opening a Bastion Remnants chest.
2. Diamond Horse Armor
Horse armor is a special type of armor that players can equip on horses. They provide extra protection against melee or ranged attacks. Only leather horse armors can be crafted, the rest must be looted from chests in various locations in Minecraft.
Diamond horse armor is the strongest and therefore rarest of them all. Players can usually find it in Nether Fortress treasure chests, at an 11% spawn rate.
3. Treasure Enchantments
Treasure enchantments are enchantments that cannot be obtained through the enchanting table, including Frost Walker, Mending, Soul Speed, Curse of Binding, and Curse of Vanishing. To obtain those enchantments, players need to find enchanted books with them inside chests.
Amongst the enchantments, Mending is probably the most valuable. It allows the enchanted gears to regain their durability automatically by consuming EXP.
4. Name Tags
A name tag is an item used to name mobs in the world and prevent them from despawning naturally. Because of that, they cannot be crafted and can only be found in chests. To use them, just modify their description with an anvil then use it on any mob.
Name tags can only be found in a handful of locations such as Dungeons, Mineshafts and Woodland mansions. At least their spawn rate is high - players have a 42.3% chance to get one in Mineshafts.
5. Saddles
Saddles are rare items that allow players to ride striders, horses, donkeys, mules, skeleton horses, and pigs. They can only be acquired from chest loots and cannot be crafted. While their spawn chance is not as high as name tags, saddles spawn in a lot more structures.
The best places to find a saddle are the chests from Nether Fortresses, with a whopping 35.3% spawn rate.
