Cheats in Call of Duty series like aimhacks, which make aiming easier, and wallhacks, which show enemy positions, give unfair advantages, and frustrate honest players. Although the developers frequently introduce new anti-cheat systems, cheaters always find ways to bypass them. This constant back-and-forth shows how hard it is to fully manage cheating in the game.

The recent launch of Modern Warfare 3 on Xbox Game Pass has been well-received by players. Nevertheless, since Season 5 started, there’s been a new problem with cheating in Call of Duyt: Warzone. Reports show a rise in cheaters, many of whom are using the PC version from the Microsoft Store but appear in-game with an Xbox logo next to their names. This happens because the Microsoft Store version lists PC players as Xbox users in lobbies. As a result, PC cheaters can hide their actions by pretending to be Xbox players. The RICOCHET anti-cheat system hasn’t been effective against this issue, and the developers haven’t publicly addressed it yet.
A Surge in COD: Warzone Cheating
In a Reddit thread about the recent increase in cheating, users voiced their frustration. One user said they encountered several cheaters in multiple games, highlighting issues with aim assist and wallhacks. Another user found the game almost unplayable, struggling to stay alive and get their load-outs.
It’s uncertain how long it will take for the cheating issue to be fully resolved in Call of Duty: Warzone. The developer has recently taken action by blocking two major cheating software providers for the game. This can be considered a significant step forward. However, Modern Warfare 3 on Xbox Game Pass has also experienced server problems, so some issues might continue.
