The console war between Microsoft and Sony still rages on, with the next generation of consoles almost out of development. Both sides have earned a lot of successes and failures, however, with the PlayStation 4 dominated the current generation, people have been waiting with bated breath to see what Microsoft would bring to the table next. In this post, we would list out some of the most prevalent leaks about the two upcoming Xbox console, the Series X and S.

The Series X looks like a PC tower

Based on a leak that was posted on Reddit, aside from the Series X, Microsoft is also going to reveal the Xbox Series S, which has lower performance and price. This would fit pretty well with the previous rumors about the two console projects that they have been working on, Lockhart and Anaconda.

Series S’s components were analyzed pretty thoroughly in the post. The Series S is allegedly using an AMD APU, which comes equipped with a 4.0GHz octa-core processor, an unrecognized GPU, and 16 GB of memory (4GB of VRAM and 12GB of RAM). The Series S would run at 1440p and 60fps – this is probably an effort to cut down the cost as much as possible so that the Xbox brand would be more accessible. While this leak should be taken with consideration, however, if this is really the truth, Microsoft has definitely gone in the right direction. As Sony and PlayStation with their superior exclusive games have been dominating this generation, Xbox has to figure out a unique selling point, such as prices and PC integration, so that they could stay competitive. Especially when gaming hardware has been increasing in prices steadily.

More information about both the PS5 and the Xbox Series X would be revealed very soon, with a major PS5 event coming next month. While Xbox and Microsoft have booked the whole E3, they are likely to get some more info out first – and the S series would definitely be their ace in the hole to counter Sony.
