1. Bennett

Ever since Genshin Impact's release, no character has managed to push Bennett out of the "versatile all-purpose support". He can be splashed in pretty much every team. On top of his powerful heal, Bennett also provides a powerful ATK boost, which is useful for most characters. Despite being 4-star, Bennett surpassed pretty much all other characters in popularity.

His element is also a huge advantage. Bennett can trigger Pyro resonance alongside another Pyro, which yields a lot of free damage.

2. Zhongli

3. Xingqiu

Despite Yelan's release, Xingqiu is still the premier Hydro support in Genshin, due to the fact that many players already have him at high constellations. Before 2.7, he is the best Hydro support in the game, with the ability to apply Hydro continuously without much cooldown. This allows reaction teams like Vaporize, Freeze and Electro Charged to work smoothly.

With Spiral Abyss allowing up to 2 teams, even Yelan users are putting Xingqiu in the other team that doesn't have Yelan. Overall, despite getting power creeped, Xingqiu is not going out of meta any time soon.

4. Xiangling

Xiangling or "the 4 star Pyro Archon" is a powerful Pyro character that most players have at high constellation. Her skill and burst are powerful Pyro applicators that can be used to support reaction teams. She is no slouch in dealing damage, of course, as her Elemental Burst can snapshot. It is perfect to be used inside Bennett's AoE for the extra ATK.

Similar to Bennett, she is also a common character to trigger Pyro resonance in teams.

5. Raiden Shogun

With the Electro element being somewhat underpowered, it is likely that miHoYo gave Raiden Shogun her busted skillset to make up for that. The Electro Archon is one of the most powerful characters in the game and has been part of the top 5 spiral abyss characters ever since her debut.

She is part of the f2p friendly "national team" lineup of Raiden + Bennett + Xingqiu + Xiangling. All three supports are useful 4 stars and can beat Abyss floor 12 easily with Raiden's help.
