Free Fire: Andrew Awaken Ability Details, Analysis, Skill Combination

The OB27 update is coming to the game, bringing tons of new changes in the Free Fire character system. One of the changes that is most noticeable is the Andrew Awaken character. There are currently 2 Awaken characters in Free Fire, which are Kelly and Hayato. When a character is Awaken in Free Fire, they will get a new ability in addition to the original ability.

In this article, we are going to look further into the new Awaken Andrew in Free Fire and see what he will be able to do in the next update.

1. Awaken Andrew Ability Details

Andrew Awaken ability details:

• Wolf Pack Level 1: Increases damage reduction to armor by 8%. Additional 0.15 damage reduction from each teammate who carries this skill
• Wolf Pack  Level 2: Increases damage reduction to armor by 9%. Additional 0.15 damage reduction from each teammate who carries this skill
• Wolf Pack  Level 3: Increases damage reduction to armor by 10%. Additional 0.15 damage reduction from each teammate who carries this skill
• Wolf Pack  Level 4: Increases damage reduction to armor by 11%. Additional 0.15 damage reduction from each teammate who carries this skill
• Wolf Pack  Level 5: Increases damage reduction to armor by 12%. Additional 0.15 damage reduction from each teammate who carries this skill
• Wolf Pack  Level 6: Increases damage reduction to armor by 14%. Additional 0.15 damage reduction from each teammate who carries this skill

In the current patch, Awaken ability is a separate ability from the original ability. However, in the OB27 update, it will merge with the original ability as one. That means you will have vest durability loss decreased by 12% from the original ability as well.

2. Awaken Andrew Analysis

It is no doubt that with this Awaken ability, we are going to see Andrew being used in the next patch more frequently, especially in Squad matches and Clash Squad. In addition, Andrew is a free character so it is very easy for your whole team to own him and upgrade him to max level.

If your whole team has Level 6 Awaken Andrew, your vest will give you a 14.45% addition damage reduction. The damage reduction can roughly translate to 30 Max HP in the case you only get shot in the body. However, if you take into account healing with characters such as K, A125, Alok then having Andrew's skill is much better than having more Max HP.

The weakness of the skill is still that you need a vest first which might not available in the early game sometimes. Also, your vest might get destroyed during combats. This is less likely to happen with Andrew because his original ability increases the durability of the vest.

3. Awaken Andrew Combination

As mentioned, Awaken Andrew's ability works best in a Squad with every member having the ability. The best pet to use with this ability will be Poring. Poring's ability can restore the durability of the Helmet and Vest by 1 every second at max level. It also prevents your Helmet and Vest from being destroyed.

Shani will be a great character to combine with Awaken Andrew as she will restore the durability of your vest as well as upgrade it after each kill. With her, you will be able to get a Level 3 Vest every game easily.

Wolfrahh is also a great choice as he can reduce up to 25% of damage to your head, the biggest weakness of Andrew, in addition to a 20% damage increase to the enemy's limb.

Hayato Awaken in OB27 will have frontal damage reduction and armor penetration when his health is low, a great character to combine with Andrew for close-range and mid-range fights.

Any character with a healing ability also work great with Andrew because of his ability to reduce damage. These characters include K, A124, Alok Miguel, Jota, Luqueta, Antonio.

4. Awaken Andrew Strategy

Awaken Andrew's ability fit for rushers in close-range and mid-range flights. You will take most of the damage from body shots in these fights so Awaken Andrew's ability can do its work. Of course, that makes shotguns and SMGs your go-to weapons. If you have a good skill combination, you are going to be very tanky and hard to take down. It should be really easy for you to win a face-to-face encounter with the damage reduction advantage.
