The unique character skill system is probably what separates Free Fire from other competitors battle royale in the market. They have been continuously adding more characters, each with a different ability, story, and background... However, not all characters get added right away, as they need to be tested inside the Advance server beta test phase first.
In this article, we would list out all Free Fire New Character 2020 available to date to see which one of them is the best... and whether or not they would become meta similar to Alok and Chrono.
Free Fire New Character 2020
1 - Snowelle
Snowelle is a Lab researcher whose majors are nanotechnology and robotics. Her skill "Nano Nerves" is inspired by her background - it is an active skill that enables her bullets to stop enemies' active skills and regeneration. Based on her background story and the name of the skill, it is likely that the bullets contain nanomachines. She was part of the OB25 Advance Server update but wasn't added to the game when the patch hit.
Skill effects: Within 5s of being hit by Snowelle, enemies are unable to use active skills, unable to convert EP into HP. Its cooldown would be shortened with levels - it would be reduced from 45 to 30 from level 1 to 6.
- Nano Nerves Level 1: Within 5s of being hit by Snowelle, enemies are unable to use active skills, unable to convert EP into HP. CD 45s.
- Nano Nerves Level 2: Within 5s of being hit by Snowelle, enemies are unable to use active skills, unable to convert EP into HP. CD 42s.
- Nano Nerves Level 3: Within 5s of being hit by Snowelle, enemies are unable to use active skills, unable to convert EP into HP. CD 39s.
- Nano Nerves Level 4: Within 5s of being hit by Snowelle, enemies are unable to use active skills, unable to convert EP into HP. CD 36s.
- Nano Nerves Level 5: Within 5s of being hit by Snowelle, enemies are unable to use active skills, unable to convert EP into HP. CD 33s.
- Nano Nerves Level 6: Within 5s of being hit by Snowelle, enemies are unable to use active skills, unable to convert EP into HP. CD 30s.
This ability would counter all meta abilities like Alok, K and Chrono's... overall, Snowelle would definitely be a required character for high-rank players. If you manage to shoot your enemies when the skill is active, they would be unable to activate their heal and shield.... and even if they already used Alok's heal, no HP would be gained.
2 - Skyler
Skyler is the first character based on a Vietnamese Celebrity - with the country being where the dev team of Free Fire is from, the fact that a character like this is released is somewhat expected. Apparently, Skyler's ability "Riptide Rhythm" is going to be somewhat similar to K's - with an active component and a passive component.
- Riptide Rhythm Level 1: Damage 5 Gloo Walls within 50m, 60s CD. If you have a Gloo Wall deployed, heal 2HP/second.
- Riptide Rhythm Level 2: Damage 5 Gloo Walls within 57m, 60s CD. If you have a Gloo Wall deployed, heal 3HP/second.
- Riptide Rhythm Level 3: Damage 5 Gloo Walls within 67m, 55s CD. If you have a Gloo Wall deployed, heal 4HP/second.
- Riptide Rhythm Level 4: Damage 5 Gloo Walls within 77m, 51s CD. If you have a Gloo Wall deployed, heal 5HP/second.
- Riptide Rhythm Level 5: Damage 5 Gloo Walls within 88m, 46s CD. If you have a Gloo Wall deployed, heal 6HP/second.
- Riptide Rhythm Level 6: Damage 5 Gloo Walls within 100m, 40s CD. If you have a Gloo Wall deployed, heal 7HP/second.
The wording of this skill implies that the effect stacks when you have multiple Gloo Walls deployed, but they said that the effect does not stack right afterward. Overall, this skill is fairly decent - it is worth using for the healing effect alone - the active ability of damaging enemies' Gloo Walls is just a nice bonus on top. Just remember to use this skill before deploying your own wall, as it also damages the walls you created.

3 - Sverr
Sverr is a top tier MMA fighter who's looking for revenge after losing to Kla in an official match. He was part of the OB24 Advance Server update but wasn't added to the game when the patch hit. Sverr's skill is an active ability called "Going Berserk", which was probably inspired by his background as a "mad" fighter.
Skill effects: By activating the ability, Sverr would sacrifice some HP to get a temporary damage boost. The abilities' statistics increase with levels.
- Going Berserk Level 1: Consume 40 HP to increase damage output by 10% for 5 seconds. Cooldown: 45s.
- Going Berserk Level 2: Consume 38 HP to increase damage output by 12% for 5 seconds. Cooldown: 42s.
- Going Berserk Level 3: Consume 36 HP to increase damage output by 14% for 5 seconds. Cooldown: 39s.
- Going Berserk Level 4: Consume 34 HP to increase damage output by 16% for 5 seconds. Cooldown: 36s.
- Going Berserk Level 5: Consume 32 HP to increase damage output by 18% for 5 seconds. Cooldown: 33s.
- Going Berserk Level 6: Consume 30 HP to increase damage output by 20% for 5 seconds. Cooldown: 30s.
This ability would be a high-risk high-reward type of skill, as a 20% damage boost is pretty massive. You would have to use the skill in combat, as the duration is fairly short. This is best used in tandem with a healing skill to make up for the HP loss.
4 - Shirou
Shirou's ability is a passive skill named "Damage Delivery". This is somewhat related to his background of being a Delivery Boy. Below are the details of the skill.
- At level 1, when hit by an enemy in 50 meters, Shiro would tag the attacker for 3 seconds. When tagged, they would be revealed on the map and the first shot against the marked target would have an additional 10% armor penetration. 60 seconds cooldown.
- At max level, the range of the skill would increase to 100 meters, duration to 8 seconds, armor penetration to 100% and cooldown to 10 seconds.
With this skill, Shiro can deal with snipers and ambushers more effectively... and with a high damage weapon like an SKS or SVD or a shotgun, the player can even one-shot people with that 100% armor penetration. With the bonus provided by this skill, even the highest level armors and helmets are useless. The vision from this skill does not get shared with your teammates - only you would be able to see the marked enemy.
However, the skill is not really overpowered as it is a reactionary one - a good player would try to catch enemies off guard instead of getting ambushed by enemies. It would still work in a 1 vs 1 case of course - you would get an edge in damage for the first shot.
