What Are the Submachine Gun in Free Fire?

Submachine gun, or SMG for short, is a term first coined by General John Thompson, the creator of the world-famous Thompson gun. SMGs are fast-firing weapons, allowing users to spray through enemies in close-range combat. In Garena Free Fire, the SMG class retains all of these characteristics.

SMGs are super powerful early on

The SMG is one of the 7 available gun classes in Garena Free Fire. All submachine guns are accessible from the start of the game, making them a fearsome threat in early fights. However, there's a gun that does not seem to fit the category. The VSS is recognized by Free Fire as an SMG. But it doesn't fire nearly as fast as others in the class. Also, this weapon resembles a sniper rifle more. Read on to find the latest new Free Fire submachine gun list 2021 below

When to Use SMGs in Free Fire?

SMGs are super powerful in the early stages of the game. If you can find a submachine gun and some ammo as soon as you land, you'll be shredding enemies like nothing. This weapon class also excels in close-range combats. However, the SMG class tends to fall off in the mid to late game, where other weapons can outshine it.

Also, pair the SMG with other weapons to create powerful combos

So, in order to make the most out of SMGs, we suggest sticking with one early on. Then you would want to switch to more reliable ARs and pick up a Sniper Rifle if possible.

What's the Best SMG to Use in OB27 Update?

Garena rolled out its latest OB27 update last month, bringing tons of new changes to the Free Fire battlegrounds. Those changes also include weapon balancing, which buffs underpowered weapons and nerf overpowered ones. In the update, two SMGs were put on the table: the UMP and the Vector.

The UMP needs some love in order to compete with other weapons in the game. Therefore, Garena buffs its damage and accuracy stats. On the other hand, the VECTOR proves to be way too powerful after its release, so the devs nerf its range, magazine while increasing its recoil. That's a pretty big nerf.

Weapon Balances in OB27 Update

So, with the VECTOR out of the equation, which SMG should you pick up in Free Fire right now? As in the OB27 Update, we highly recommend the P90, MP5, and MP40. These weapons still deal incredible damage, especially with the right skins. They are also readily available to loot and are pretty easy to find.
