[Genshin Impact 4.2] Skirk Unveiled Origin Of GNOSIS

I. What Is Gnosis?

Gnosis is granted to seven Archons who survived and won the Archon War. It also helps these Archons resonate and connect with Farries in the Celestia. Gnosis looks like a chess piece with seven unique colors representing seven elements in this game.

Venti revealed that it's a magical item. According to Nahida, users can summon a great power of any element using Gnosis. She can summon the Dendro power using the Electro Gnosis in her Archon Quest to unlock the Rukkhadevata Realm.

Tsaritsa is also hunting for these Gnosis items to summon an insane power for the war against Celestia. She has got six out of seven Gnosis up to now. According to some details in Nahida's Archon War, Celestia will be noticed when a Gnosis is destroyed.

II. What Is Gnosis Made From?

Before Update 4.2, the materials to make Gnosis are unknown. However, Skirk appeared to introduce how this magical item is made. As unveiled, Gnosis is made from the remains of the Third Descender by the First and Second Descenders after this character passed away. It's somehow similar to the origin of Delusion, which is made from the remains of ancient gods by Fatui.

The First and Second Descenders created Gnosis to control Teyvat. After the war between these two Descenders, the First Descender was seriously injured. Then, Gnosis was granted to The Seven who are in charge of granting Vision to those whose desire and power are loud enough to resonate with Celestia.

It can be the way Celestia maintains the rule in Teyvat. When an Archon nurtures an ambition of betraying and attacking Celestia, they can be replaced by a superhuman holding the Vision.

III. Similarities Between Gnosis And Vision

Both Genshin Vision and Gnosis are produced by Celestia to control Teyvat and ensure this continent remains the homeworld of humans. Human with Vision can be promoted to become an Archon to replace the old one. The Archon with Gnosis owns the hugest power of the corresponding element.

If Vision contains the desire of a superhuman, Gnosis contains the desire of Archons. But many characters do not lose their elemental power when losing or giving away their Gnosis or Vision. For example, Ei gave Yae Miko her Electro Vision after trying to change its function in vain. Five Archons remain powerful after losing their Gnosis.

But it does not mean that Gnosis is useless. Zhongli confirmed that he couldn't gain such a huge power without Gnosis when ascending. He unveiled that this magical item helped buff the Archon's power for the owner.
