OB35 is a huge patch that adds two brand new characters into Free Fire. One of them is J.Biebs, a male character based on pop star Justin Bieber. The other is an original Free Fire female character named Iris. Despite being the sideshow of the patch, her skill is actually more powerful than J.Biebs and has the potential to become a hot pick in ranked.

In this article, Gurugamer is going to showcase everything you need to know about Iris in Free Fire OB35.

Iris
Iris in Free Fire OB35

1. Iris backstory & design

Backstory

With her keen vision, Iris is good at predicting the enemy's actions to seize opportunities to win. If you're worried that her rhetoric, mindless optimism, and hyper-individualism will affect your cooperation, don’t. Iris never cooperates with anyone - except for Homer who unconditionally accepts her, and cleans up all her messes.

It is a bit funny that Iris, a character with great vision, is paired up with Homer, a blind character.

Design

Iris has a pretty flashy design, similar to Steffie but in pink.

2. Iris ability in Free Fire

Iris Banner
A new way to interact with gloo walls.

Ability: Wall Brawl (active)

Level Ability
1 Within 5s after releasing the skill, the skill user can attack a Gloo Wall to mark enemies within 7m of it, and penetrate the Gloo Wall to cause damage to said enemies (damage inflicted will be lower than usual). Effective on maximum 3 Gloo Walls. CD 80s
2 Within 6s after releasing the skill, the skill user can attack a Gloo Wall to mark enemies within 7m of it, and penetrate the Gloo Wall to cause damage to said enemies (damage inflicted will be lower than usual). Effective on maximum 3 Gloo Walls. CD 75s
3 Within 7s after releasing the skill, the skill user can attack a Gloo Wall to mark enemies within 7m of it, and penetrate the Gloo Wall to cause damage to said enemies (damage inflicted will be lower than usual). Effective on maximum 4 Gloo Walls. CD 70s
4 Within 8s after releasing the skill, the skill user can attack a Gloo Wall to mark enemies within 7m of it, and penetrate the Gloo Wall to cause damage to said enemies (damage inflicted will be lower than usual). Effective on maximum 4 Gloo Walls. CD 65s
5 Within 9s after releasing the skill, the skill user can attack a Gloo Wall to mark enemies within 7m of it, and penetrate the Gloo Wall to cause damage to said enemies (damage inflicted will be lower than usual). Effective on maximum 5 Gloo Walls. CD 60s
6 Within 10s after releasing the skill, the skill user can attack a Gloo Wall to mark enemies within 7m of it, and penetrate the Gloo Wall to cause damage to said enemies (damage inflicted will be lower than usual). Effective on maximum 5 Gloo Walls. CD 55s

While sounding fairly convoluted, this skill essentially allows players to pierce through gloo walls to damage enemies hidden behind it, upon activation.

3. Skill combo for Iris in Free Fire

Iris Character Design
She is going to be a hot pick this patch.

Iris's ability is an active skill and it can only be used to combo with other passive skills. Overall, as the skill counters gloo walls, it is best used in combination with offensive passives:

Maro

Maro is one of the few characters with abilities that outright increase weapon damage. Players can combo this passive with Wall Brawl pretty easily to increase the damage dealt to enemies. Iris' active works well in both rusher and sniper combo.

Nairi

Ice Iron regenerates HP for Gloowalls deployed. However, the most useful feature here is that it deals 35% extra damage when using ARs on Gloo Walls.

Nikita

Reload speed increases and the final few bullets of SMG will cause more damage. Spamming bullets to damage gloo walls can be a problem as you would run out of ammo later on when facing enemies.

With Nikita's ability, players should be able to reload faster and deal more damage.

Dasha

Dasha's ability reduces the rate of recoil buildup and maximum recoil, which results in more accuracy and damage. This works fairly well when combo with Iris.

4. How good is Iris in Clash Squad and BR modes?

Overall, Iris is a great character in both Clash Squad and BR, however, she probably shines more in team modes. Her skill is designed around countering Gloo Walls, which is even more effective than Skyler. Enemies would have problems setting up walls constantly now and need to find actual covers on the battlefield instead.

The cooldown of the skill is also fairly short at level 6 - only 55s. Players should be able to use it in every fight.

As Wall Brawl works with any weapon, there is no restriction on Iris' weapon usage. However, it is best that players pick up high-damage, rapid-firing guns to deal as much damage as possible.
