Active skill is the most important part of a build in Free Fire. Players need to pick the right skill that fits their playstyle, and in rank push, one would need all the advantages they can get.

In this article, Gurugamer is going to showcase the top 5 best active skills for rank push in Free Fire OB35.

1. Alok

While its cooldown has been nerfed a bit, Alok's Drop the Beat is still one of the best skills in the game. It is worth picking if you don't have any preferences. It is still an all-rounder skill that fits any build.

Alok
Alok's ability is great in every situation.

Drop the Beat's costless healing and speed are useful in both Battle Royale and Clash Squad. If you are having problems with picking an active ability, Alok is probably your best generic choice, as he won't clash with any builds.

2. Homer

Homer is the new character of OB34. He has the potential to become the most broken character in Free Fire to date, with the first truly attack ability. His skill summons a drone that zips toward enemies in the 100-meter frontal range and creates a 5-meter pulse explosion.

Homer's ability is great in team based modes

The explosion slows the movement speed of all enemies in the radius by 60% and their firing speed by 35%. On top of that, it also deals 25 damage. The slow effect last for 5 seconds and the ability has a 90 seconds cooldown at max level.

This skill is truly broken, as it can track the movement of enemies, reduce their damage output and slow them down. It is perfect for rusher builds where you can just go in alongside the drone. Currently, Homer is not available for purchase - it is likely that he would be released in his own event later.

3. Steffie

In OB33, Steffie's active has been changed into a much more useful version, gaining reduced bullet damage and the ability to block throwables. However, the skill is still fairly underpowered, due to its rather long cooldown. The skill is also not that mobile, as the area does not follow when players move.

Steffie
Steffie can be situationally useful.

Painted Refuge's rework made the skill a perfect choice for support in Free Fire. Looks like Garena wants to boost the support role, as the skill has received a slight buff in OB34. With a 30 seconds reduction in cooldown at all levels, the ability should be a top pick now.

4. Iris

Iris is the newest character in Free Fire, with a new ability called Wall Brawl that counters players who hide behind gloo walls. She is going to be a top pick in matches, as gloo walls are really popular in Free Fire. She is going to be available some time later this patch - players cannot get her right now.

Iris
Iris' ability can deal damage to hidden foes.

Within 10s after releasing the skill, the skill user can attack a Gloo Wall to mark enemies within 7m of it, and penetrate the Gloo Wall to cause damage to said enemies (damage inflicted will be lower than usual). Effective on maximum 5 Gloo Walls. CD 55s

5. Skyler

While his skill was nerfed a bit, Skyler is still a force to be reckoned with, especially in the late game. By activating his skill, players can destroy or damage up to 5 gloo walls in the area, while gaining some HP regeneration in the process.

As gloo walls are one of the most important tools in the endgame, being able to heavily damage or destroy them would give you and your team a huge advantage. The best part of this skill is that its cooldown is fairly short - you can fire it off at any time you want.

Skyler can demolish walls while healing yourself.

6. Xayne

Xayne's ability is called Xtreme Encounter. At level 6, it gives the player 120HP and 200% increased damage to gloo walls and shields for 6 seconds, on a 100 seconds cooldown. You lose the bonus HP after the skill ends, but the damage is not lethal.

Xayne
Xayne's ability is definitely worth using in squad mode.

Overall, this ability is perfect for close to medium-range combat, especially if your enemies use Gloo Walls. You should be able to penetrate their cover easily to damage the foes hidden behind the barrier.

You might need to get away after the skill's duration is near its end, as the HP bonus is only temporary. It would be a problem if the buff goes away while you are fighting.

7. Clu

Detecting enemies' locations is the first step to becoming a successful sniper. Clu's ability is actually very strong now, after various buffs in previous patches. While the 75m radius is not super high, it is sufficient for medium-range sniping, which is the most common form of sniper battle in the game. When used correctly, players should be able to get the drop on their enemies.

Clu has been buffed massively.

Furthermore, the duration of this skill is fairly long and it also shares the info to your teammates, which is perfect in Squad mode.
