Polearms are one of the five weapon types that characters can use in Genshin Impact. They have fast attacks and long forward reach and deal moderate damage per hit. Currently, there are 9 polearm users in the game, five 5-star and four 4-star. In this article, we are going to showcase the Polearm users Genshin Impact tier list 2022, from best to worst.

This tier list is based on the C0 version of the characters. Unlike other weapon classes in the game, all Polearm characters are A tier or above (except for Thoma who needs C1 to be A tier)

Genshin Impact
Genshin Impact is a fairly complex game.

1. SS tier

Hu Tao

Hu Tao is one of the strongest damage dealers in Genshin Impact. She excels at single target damage, especially when animation canceling her Charged Attack and triggering Melt and Vaporize. It is a bit tricky to get the highest DPS out of her, as players need to keep her below 50% at all times.

She gets a huge power spike at C1, gaining a new passive that remove the Stamina cost of her Charge Attacks.

Zhongli

Zhongli is the best Shielder in the game and also one of the most powerful characters lore-wise. His tough shield can withstand all types of enemy attacks, allowing players to get away with any type of squishy lineups.

Furthermore, he is no slouch when it comes to dealing damage. Zhongli can dish out huge AoE Geo damage with his Elemental Burst, which also inflicts Petrify.

Zhongli is the go-to flex pick.

Raiden Shogun

Being an Archon, Raiden Shogun is a top-tier Electro character who can deal high damage as both main and sub DPS. Besides her innate high stats, Raiden also has an excellent kit that increases the team's Elemental Burst damage and Energy Recharge.

As spamming Elemental Burst is one of the most common, cookie-cutter strategies in the game, Raiden Shogun is a staple of the best team comps for Genshin's hardest content. Raiden Shogun gets a huge power spike at C2, where she gains a passive that allows her skill and burst to ignore 60% of enemies' DEF.

Raiden is the main character in a lot of builds.

2. S tier

Shenhe

Shenhe excels at buffing allies and debuffing enemies. She is tailor-made for mono Cryo teams and provides large amounts of Cryo and Physical resistance shred. Her poor performance outside of mono Cryo keeps Shenhe away from the highest tier.

She gets a huge power spike at C2, with her burst lasting 6 more seconds and all allies inside gaining +15% Cryo Crit DMG.

Shenhe Secret
Shenhe is the best Cryo support currently, especially if players managed to get her weapon.

Xiangling

Xiangling is one of the strongest and most flexible Sub DPS characters in the game. She has high ATK Speed, high AoE Burst damage with a strong Pyro application that persists even after switching out. There's a reason fans called her "the Pyro Archon" - she performs better than a lot of 5-star characters.

C4 Xiangling is actually SS tier, with her Burst lasting 40% longer.

Xiao

Xiao is an Anemo DPS that excels at dealing high AoE damage with his plunge attacks within the radius of his Elemental Burst. He is fairly f2p friendly, as his kit allows him to deal massive damage without constellations unlocked.

Furthermore, he is about to get a new artifact set called Vermillion Hereafter in 2.6, with skills designed solely for his kit. With the set, Xiao can easily get to the SS tier.

3. A Tier

Yun Jin

Yun Jin is the newest Geo Polearm character in the game, released alongside Shenhe. She excels at empowering DPS characters that rely on their normal attacks, which is a fairly rare build. Yun Jin's kit is fairly easy to use, with her Elemental Skill generating a decent amount of elemental particles for her low-cost Burst.

She can rise to S tier at C2, with her Burst gaining another extra buff for normal attack damage.

Yun Jin has a pretty weird kit that boost Normal Attacks.

Rosaria

Rosaria is a decent sub DPS Cryo character who can deal good damage and provide a buff to other Cryo DPS. She is the go-to choice of players for Cryo support... before Shenhe's debut. Her support capability is maximized at C6, which gives her Burst a debuff that reduces enemies' physical RES.

Genshin Impact Rosaria
Rosaria was replaced by Shenhe.

4. B Tier

Thoma

Thoma is easily the weakest polearm character in Genshin Impact due to his weird kit that focuses on shields. Besides his lackluster DMG scaling, his Elemental Skill also has a long CD and his Elemental Burst has a high energy cost.

Players need to get Thoma to the highest constellation possible for him to be more useful, however, it is easier to just invest in better characters instead.
