As we reported several times before, The Bonfire: Forsaken Lands is a critically-acclaimed survival game that was originally released on iOS in 2018 before making its way to Android late last July. Now, a sequel titled The Bonfire 2: Uncharted Shores has been announced. No specific launch date for this new game is confirmed at the moment, but following the example of its predecessor, it’ll also hit iOS first before coming to Android. Check out an early gameplay footage below:

And just like the first game, Uncharted Shores is going to be a survival game with a strong focus on resource management. However, the developer has added many changes to give players a larger degree of control over their village.

In Forsaken Lands, the positions of the buildings are static, meaning you cannot control where they are placed and have no choice but to work with what you’re given. The sequel, though, will allow you to choose where to place your buildings. This potentially means there will be more freedom for you to optimize your production chains. For example, you can place the blacksmith near an iron mine so that resources can be delivered between them faster.

Additionally, the world map is now procedurally-generated, and you can deploy ships out to explore your surroundings to find mysterious dungeons, ruins, or even cities. Definitely an improvement compared to the original title, where all of this is done automatically. This will no doubt adds to the longevity of the game as well since you’ll get a different map every time you start a new playthrough.

You’ll get to see things from a different perspective too. Rather than a 2D view from the side, the dev has opted for an isometric angle this time, and looking at the available screenshots, it looks a lot more visually impressive.

The Bonfire 2: Uncharted Shores will be available on both Android and iOS, but it’ll hit the latter first. We do know for a fact that it’ll be a premium release, but there’s no information on the price yet.
