Alhaitham’s high rate of Dendro application and the extensive EM scaling in his kit makes him a powerful on-field Spread DPS. He is one of only two characters currently able to apply sustained Dendro on-field. Needless to say, this allows him to synergizes really well with other Dendro and Electro characters.
He can run with multiple Electro units that can contribute substantial off-field damage via Aggravate. A secondary Dendro unit can also be slotted in for extra Spread procs and Dendro Resonance. In this article, Gurugamer is going to showcase the top 10 best teammates for Alhaitham in Genshin Impact.
1. Fischl/Yae/Beidou/Lisa
Fischl applies Electro off-field, acts as a battery for other Electro units, and deals good personal damage. However, her A4 will generally not have significant uptime with Alhaitham on-field, since Spreads don’t trigger her A4.
Yae Miko provides off-field Electro damage and a powerful AoE nuke on Burst. She can also alternate Burst usage with Alhaitham every other rotation, equalizing rotation times while lowering both of their ER requirements.
Beidou provides off-field damage for multi-target scenarios and some Interruption Resistance.
2. Raiden Shogun
Raiden can be played in Quicken or Quickbloom teams. In the former, Alhaitham typically acts as a quickswap Burst DPS with Raiden as an on-field Aggravate DPS and battery. In the latter, she acts as a Hyperbloom trigger and Electro applier for an on-field Alhaitham.
She is also an universal battery, can help make up for batterying time lost due to her field time requirements or allow teammates to run lower ER. Her teamwide full uptime Burst DMG% buff from Skill is also useful to support Alhaitham's powerful Burst.
3. Kuki Shinobu
Kuki Shinobu's AoE Electro application and additional EM scaling allow her to enable Spread while contributing healing and decent reaction damage through Aggravate. She is also an excellent Hyperbloom/Quickbloom trigger, as she provides good healing even when built entirely to maximize EM.
4. Nahida
Nahida is an excellent battery and brings good off-field damage, permanent 4DM uptime and strong EM buff through her A1. Additionally, she can provide Dendro application and buffs for her Electro teammates to consistently trigger Aggravates.
Players can also play Nahida on-field if their Alhaitham is not maxed yet. Her on-field Quicken teams revolve around using Nahida’s Normal and Charged Attacks in combination with her Skill and Burst to maximize her own Spread triggers, while driving off-field Electro units and allowing them to trigger Aggravate.
5. Yaoyao
Yaoyao can condense healing and batterying for Alhaitham, though she struggles to proc Favonius as her Skill doesn’t do an initial hit of damage. She provides good 4DM uptime, especially in single-target. However, preliminary investigation indicates that she may not be sufficient as solo healer in Bloom-based teams where Alhaitham takes Bloom self-damage.
6. Xingqiu/Yelan
Xingqiu’s off-field single-target damage, Hydro application, and defensive utility from his damage reduction and valuable Interruption Resistance make him a good option for Bloom-based teams.
Yelan is similar to Xingqiu but trades his appreciable defensive utility for a strong ramping DMG% buff.
7. Thoma
Thoma is an effective Burgeon trigger due to his slow but consistent Pyro application. He also provides a stacking shield which gives Interruption Resistance and significant defensive utility. He can build HP% and EM as needed to balance survivability with his personal damage.
Due to the way Thoma’s shield works, he is able to keep a strong shield without relying on only one Talent. He can start and end a fight with a significantly strong shield without having to activate his Skill again because he is able to stack his shield during his Burst.
8. Kazuha
Anemo units like Kazuha can provide grouping and VV support for Alhaitham’s Hydro and Electro teammates. In addition, Kazuha offers a team-wide EM buff and strong personal damage and a DMG% buff for Swirled elements.
Needs multiple EM mainstat artifacts to access full supporting capability (and full damage capability in multi-target).
9. Zhongli
Zhongli provides a strong shield, shreds all Elemental RES, and can carry support artifact sets like Tenacity of the Millelith or Deepwood Memories.
10. Albedo
Albedo is extremely easy to play and can be flexibly slotted into most teams, as he has one of the lowest field time requirements of any character. His slow Geo application rarely interferes with other reactions in your team, and in certain cases can even help the team.
Building him is easy, as he has F2P-friendly weapon options, including a 3-star sword easily obtainable through Wishes. In Alhaitham teams, Albedo provides off-field DMG and an EM buff with his Burst.
