The Nether is the second dimension in Minecraft, and the most dangerous one. It is filled with lava and hostile creatures.

However, there are quite a few resources that can only be farmed in the Nether. In this article, Gurugamer is going to showcase the top 5 most useful mobs in Minecraft Nether.

1. Blazes

Blazes are floating hostile mobs found in nether fortresses, and are the only source of blaze rods. These rods are essential in brewing and can serve as fuel for both brewing and smelting. Furthermore, blaze powder (from rods) is the other ingredient to create the eye of ender that leads the player to the End.

2. Strider

The Strider is a unique mob that spawns only in the Nether. Because of that, when it comes to Nether travel, nothing beats it because of their immunity to lava. Unlike most mobs, striders can walk on top of lava without sinking. This allows players to navigate the Nether as they see fit, without having to worry about falling to their deaths.

They eat warped fungus, therefore, to control Striders, players need to put warped fungus on a stick and dangle it before their eyes. The player can ride on an adult strider using a saddle and can attach them to leads. Using the warped fungus on a stick while riding a Strider makes it run faster at the cost of 1 durability.

As piglins run away from zombified piglins, soul fire, soul torches, soul campfires, and soul lanterns, you can use one of those items to lead piglins toward your farm then cage them in with blocks.

A Piglin inspects a gold ingot for 6-8 seconds then toss an item at the player.

Afterward, give them a piece of gold armor or name tag them to prevent despawning. Unlike most hostile mobs, piglins do not despawn in peaceful mode, however, they still follow normal hostile mob despawning rules.

7. Hoglin

A hoglin is a breedable hostile mob found in the Nether, and a source of porkchops and leather. You can find herds of 3–4 hoglins in the Crimson Forest biome or in the Bastion Remnant.

The hoglin is the only hostile mob that can be bred, using Crimson Fungi.

If a hoglin spawns in or moves to the Overworld or the End, it shakes and then transforms into a zoglin after 15 seconds. Both Zoglins and Hoglins can be led with a lead despite the fact they are hostile.

8. Piglin Brutes

A piglin brute is a hostile and stronger variant of piglins that appears in all types of bastion remnants. Unlike normal piglins, they always attack the player on sight. Brutes do not barter, do not retreat, and cannot be distracted by gold. Similar to Vindicators, they also wield axes and can deal 13 to 19 damage each hit.
