SpellForce: Heroes & Magic is a turn-based strategy game with some in-depth RPG mechanics integrated. Set in a mythical world named EO, the game features 3 playable races: the valiant Humans, the battle-thirsty Orcs, or the mysterious Dark Elves. There are also 6 neutral factions including Dwarves, Trolls, Gargoyles, and more that the player can choose to either ally with or fight against along the way.
Like Heroes of Might and Magic or many other games of this genre, in SpellForce: Heroes & Magic, your goal will be to control heroes and armies to explore the world, collect resources, and conquer cities, farms, mines, etc. to expand your territory and develop your kingdom.

When you encounter an enemy army, the screen automatically switches to the battle mode, where the battlefield is divided into hexagons. You will then take on the role of a general and take direct control of your troops. There are more than 45 different types of units in this game, including Footmen, Archers, Knights, Catapults, alongside some race-specific units such as Dark Elf Sorceresses or Orc Shamans and a lot more. Naturally, each type of unit has its own unique abilities as well as strengths and weaknesses. It is up to you to outmaneuver the opponent to achieve victory while minimalizing casualties.
As mentioned, SpellForce - Heroes & Magic also adds some RPG elements to the gameplay. After every victory, your troops will gain experience to level up and become more powerful. Moreover, both your heroes and units can be equipped with different gear to improve their powers.
SpellForce: Heroes & Magic is currently available on both iOS and Android as a premium release that will set you back $7.99 (Rs 555) if you want to get it. Needless to say, this means the game will include no ads, no microtransaction, and all in all no pay-to-win whatsoever. While the price might seem a bit high, it is totally worth it for a quality game.
