The Nether is the second dimension of Minecraft, which is filled with strange mobs, lava, and other resources that the overworld does not have. In this article, Gurugamer is going to showcase the top 10 best items to farm in the Nether in Minecraft 1.19.
1. Blaze rods
Blaze rods are items exclusively obtained from blazes. They act as an essential ingredient in brewing, as a fuel for both brewing and smelting, and for crafting the eye of ender that leads the player to the End.
When killed by a player or tamed wolf, a blaze has a 50% chance to drop a blaze rod. The Looting enchantment can increase the drops by one per level, for a maximum of 4 blaze rods. To farm blaze rods, players just need to locate a blaze spawner in a Nether Fortress.
2. Ghast tears
Ghast tears are brewing items that players need to create Mundane and Regeneration potions, one of the most commonly used potions in the game. They can also be used to create Ender Crystals.
Ghasts drop 0–1 ghast tears. Looting increases the maximum ghast tears dropped by one per level, for a maximum of 4 ghast tears with Looting III. Looting also works when knocking back a fireball with an enchanted item.
3. Wither Skeleton skulls
These are important items that allow players to summon the Wither, Minecraft's hidden final boss. There is a 2.5% chance for a Wither Skeleton to drop its skull when killed by a player or tamed wolf. The looting enchantment increases the chance of dropping by a small percentage.
This is one of the more annoying mobs in the Nether, as it inflicts the Wither effect on attacks. This turns the health bar black and deals 1 damage every two seconds, similarly to Poison, except that it can kill.
4. Ender pearls
An ender pearl is an item dropped by Enderman used to teleport and to make an eye of ender. An eye of ender is a craftable item used to locate strongholds and activate the end portals within them. To move to the next dimension, having this item is a must.
Endermen have a 50% chance to drop 1 ender pearl when killed. The drop is increased by 1 per level of Looting, with a maximum of 4 with Looting III.
5. Ancient Debris
The main source for netherite in the Minecraft world is ancient debris. It is a rare blast-resistant block found in the Nether that can be smelted into Netherite Scraps. These items in turn can be used to turn your diamond gears into Netherite, the highest tier.
They can be looted from chests in Bastion Remnants or mined at y-level 15-21. You will need a diamond pickaxe to mine this ore successfully.
6. Magma Cream
Magma cream is an item used in brewing to create potions of Fire Resistance, and to manually craft magma blocks.
Death to lava is pretty common in Minecraft hardcore, especially when exploring the Nether. Therefore, bringing a fire resistance potion is pretty much a requirement. By using this potion, players will become completely immune to fire and lava damage.
7. Shroomlight
Players need to locate Huge Fungi to get Shroomlight. These giant mushrooms only spawn in 2 nether biomes, the Warped and Crimson Forest. Both crimson and warped huge fungi can generate shroomlights near the top.
Once you locate a Huge Fungi, just break it open with your pickaxe and search for Shroomlight. Shroomlight blocks can be broken with any tool, and always drops as an item, but a hoe is the fastest.
Unlike Glowstone, Shroomlights also allow redstone signals to pass through them, as they are treated like a solid block.
8. Glowstone
Glowstone is a light-emitting block that occurs in branching structures, found hanging from ceilings and overhangs in the Nether. Similar to Shroomlights, Glowstone blocks emit a light level of 15, the brightest possible light level in the game.
They can be used to craft respawn anchors and redstone lamps. Although glowstone can only be found in block form in the Nether, all renewable ways of obtaining glowstone are accessed through the Overworld.
9. Soul Sand
Soul sand is a block found naturally only in the Nether and ancient cities. Soul sand usually slows down the movement of mobs and players walking on it. It is also used for growing nether wart, for crafting items that emit soul fire, and for constructing a wither.
10. Blackstone
Blackstone is a dark-colored block that functions similar to cobblestone or cobbled deepslate. It can be found only in the Nether. Players can craft blackstone into various variants for building structures.
