The deep dark is an Overworld biome that generates deep underground, with a host of new challenges such as blocks, structures, and mobs. In this article, Gurugamer is going to showcase the top 5 useful enchantments to explore the Deep Dark in Minecraft 1.19.
1. Swift Sneak
Swift Sneak is a non-renewable enchantment that can be applied to leggings and allows the player to walk more quickly while sneaking. The enchantment increases the player's speed while crouching by 15% per level, up to 45%. At Swift Sneak level 3, the player's crouch speed equals 75% of their normal walking speed.
They can be obtained only from loot chests in ancient cities. The chests can contain enchanted books with any level of Swift Sneak.
2. Silk Touch
Silk touch is a specialized enchantment that players can put on hoes to gather blocks as items. If they want to get special blocks like leaves for construction and decoration, getting a silk touch hoe is probably the best. Having Silk Touch is useful in the Deep Dark as players would probably want to get some sculk blocks.
Fortune and Silk Touch are mutually exclusive. If commands are used to apply both enchantments to an item, the Silk Touch enchantment takes precedence (for blocks affected by both enchantments).
3. Protection
Another all-rounder useful enchantment in Minecraft, the best part about protection is that it reduces all damage, from weapon to fire, lava and even fall damage. The protection enchantment is applied after the armor's damage reduction.
Having a protection enchanted armor is very useful when going against the Warden.
The formula for damage reduction is (4 × level)% for each armor piece. The max level is 4, which means for 4 pieces of armor with protection IV, players can get up to 64% damage reduction. All damage reduction has a hard cap of 80%.
4. Mending
Mending is an enchantment that restores the durability of an item using experience. It is the most sought-after enchantment in Minecraft, as Mending allows your character to fix its gear indefinitely.
Players might not get the chance to repair their gear while inside the Deep Dark. Therefore, having mending would fix this issue.
Mending counts as a treasure enchantment; it can be obtained from chest loot, fishing, raids, or trading with a Librarian of any level.
5. Fortune
The Fortune enchantment is pretty simple. It allows users to get more of the items they mined with the enchanted tool. Usually, you only get one gem per block of ore... and this enchantment gives you more than one. For extracting rare ores such as diamonds, having a Fortune 3 pickaxe is essential. Silk Touch and Fortune are mutually exclusive.
Fortune III can be acquired via a max level enchantment table. However, you can combines tools with Fortune I from the shops to get Fortune II, and merge the Fortune IIs to get Fortune III. Fortune I tools are quite common in shops.
