The Deep Dark is the newest biome added to Minecraft as part of the Wild 1.19 update. It contains Ancient Cities which are filled with treasures and new loots. However, exploring Ancient Cities is rather tricky, as players need to deal with the Warden, one of the most dangerous mobs in the game so far. Therefore, in this article, Gurugamer is going to showcase the 5 best items for exploring ancient cities in Minecraft.
1. Silk Touch Hoe
Silk touch is a specialized enchantment that players can put on hoes to gather blocks as items. If they want to get special blocks like leaves for construction and decoration, getting a silk touch hoe is probably the best. Players can use this item to harvest sculk shriekers and prevent them from calling the warden. All other sculk blocks can also be mined with a hoe.
Fortune and Silk Touch are mutually exclusive. If commands are used to apply both enchantments to an item, the Silk Touch enchantment takes precedence (for blocks affected by both enchantments).
2. Ender Chest
Ender Chests are a type of chest whose contents are exclusive to each player and can be accessed from anywhere in the world. By bringing this chest, players can farm whatever they want in the end and store the resources in the Ender Chest for later usage.
Furthermore, it is possible to greatly increase the space of an ender chest by pairing it with Shulker boxes, which can be farmed easily in the End. Just fill the Shulker boxes with the desired items, then place them inside the ender chest.
3. Enchanted Golden Apples
Enchanted Golden Apples are the most powerful buff items in Minecraft. It gives the players some of the most useful buffs in the game: Regeneration II for 20 seconds, Absorption IV for 2 minutes, Resistance for 5 minutes, Fire Resistance for 5 minutes. When facing dangerous boss mob like the Warden, having some of these apples can help a lot.
While the golden apples are some of the rarest items in Minecraft overworld, it is actually going to be pretty common in the Deep Dark. Players can even find two of them in the same Ancient City chest. These apples would definitely help just in case players have to face the Warden.
4. Potions of healing
Besides regeneration, Potions of healing are probably the best way to gain more HP at a moment's notice. These potions can restore up to 4 hearts, which can help players survive dangerous attacks. Players can also turn them into splash potions to save time.
Health potions can significantly help users survive in the Deep Dark, especially when a Warden is after them. They can be easily found in several chests.
5. TNT
TNT is useful for the rapid clearing of areas, especially when resource collection is not a concern. Two blocks of TNT can easily remove 50 blocks of dirt or gravel, and multiple blocks can clear entire stone caverns much more quickly than could be done by hand. This is fairly useful when players want to dig through the caves of the Deep Dark for resources.
One block of TNT sets off other blocks of TNT when it explodes. Because of this, you do not have to set off each TNT, saving time. This doesn't work if the TNT is too far away from other TNT.
6. Infinity bow
Bows are incredibly useful for the game’s two major bosses: the Ender Dragon and the Wither. The former can fly and the latter is very dangerous up close. This is why players need an Infinity bow. This enchantment allows players to use the bow without consuming any arrows. However, a single arrow is still required to fire.
Arrows shot from an Infinity-enchanted bow cannot be retrieved if they land on the ground. This enchantment does not work with tipped arrows and spectral arrows - they are still consumed normally.
7. Swift Sneak
Swift Sneak is a non-renewable enchantment that can be applied to leggings and allows the player to walk more quickly while sneaking. Swift Sneak increases the player's speed while crouching by 15% per level. At Swift Sneak level 3, the player's crouch speed equals 75% of their normal walking speed. This enchantment is crucial if players want to avoid the Warden.
Swift Sneak is an exclusive enchantment of the Deep Dark biomes. Players can only find them in the giant creepy structures in the underground ancient cities.
