Weapons are an integral part of any GTA game. While most guns in GTA Online are pretty grounded in reality, there are certain weapons that only exist in science fiction.

1. Orbital Cannon

The most powerful weapon in GTA Online, the Orbital Cannon, is amazing for its meme potential. Players can anyone or anything on the map once every in-game day (48 real-time minutes) at a cost of $500,000 per manual fire (or $750,000 for automatic aimed fire).

The cannon will destroy any vehicle hit by the shot, killing any occupants. If you absolutely want to get rid of an annoying griefer, paying some money for an orbital cannon shot is definitely a great idea.

2. Up-n-Atomizer

The Up-n-Atomizer is a small handheld futuristic raygun, sporting a blue finish with a yellow coil as the barrel. When a person or vehicle is hit directly with a shot, it will send them flying into the air, dealing a bit of damage. Each shot has a bit of AoE to it so even a near miss can still trigger the launching effect.

Firing the Up-n-Atomizer can also unstuck vehicles if players somehow render them unable to move.

3. Stun Gun

The Stun Gun can be purchased at the Agency Armory for $375,000 (or $356,250 for the Agency owner). This is quite the markup from the $100 it costs at Ammu-Nation in GTA 5.

On a hit, it shocks victims with thousands of volts of electricity, leaving them incapacitated and lying on the ground. The Stun Gun's effective range is rather limited, being slightly longer than most melee weapons.

In order for the Stun Gun to not have a cooldown, players will have to perform a certain number of actions in rapid succession. First, shoot the Stun Gun at a target, then quickly after the gun dischargers, bring up your inventory menu then select “Enable Custom Weapon Loadout”. After that, swap from your main weapon back into the Stun Gun and that’s it – a Stun Gun without cooldown.

This allows players to grief by continuously stunning a target without dealing damage.

4. Railgun

The Coil Railgun is one of the most powerful weapons in GTA Online. While it has been added to the game, players can't use the Railgun in Free Roam - it is only available in specific jobs. However, with powerful weapons like the Heavy Sniper MK2 in the game, there's no reason that the Railgun should not be added to Free Roam.

Rockstar has added the Railgun to GTA Online as part of the arsenal in Gun Vans. Its projectile velocity has been lowered from 7200 KPH to 2700 KPH and inflicts less damage to players and vehicles. It can also destroy unarmored vehicles in one shot, and can be an effective weapon against maneuverable aircraft.

It will set you back GTA$730,000 to purchase for the first time. The van also has the usual array of custom tints available so that players can give the gun a fresh look.

5. Compact EMP Launcher

The Compact EMP Launcher is a special weapon that emits EMP, which is fairly unique. On a hit, it can disable the engine of a vehicle for about 5 seconds. However, this doesn't prevent weaponized vehicles from shooting. Deals nearly no damage to players.

Overall, the Compact EMP Launcher is a very situational weapon that's useful in very limited circumstances. When used as a drive-by weapon you might want to drive closer to enemy vehicles for a guaranteed hit. Additionally, the EMP effect will only disable the engine of the vehicle, and will not disable the weapons of the affected vehicle.

Outside of the EMP projectile, the Compact EMP Launcher works exactly like the Compact Grenade Launcher, which fires a slow projectile in an arc. As the projectile is much slower than bullets in GTA Online, it is very hard to hit a moving target with this launcher.

6. Unholy Hellbringer

The Unholy Hellbringer is a Machine Guns Weapon featured in GTA Online, added to the game as part of the 1.46 Arena War update on January 8, 2019. Similar to the Up-n-Atomizer, the Unholy Hellbringer is an alien plasma rifle. It has three barrels, a drum-shaped ammo magazine, and a small stock.

There appear to be three alien head symbols on the side, likely representing kill counts. This weapon can't be customized.

7. Widowmaker

The Widowmaker was added in the same patch as the Unholy Hellbringer. It is a futuristic minigun that shoots plasma instead of normal bullets. The seven alien head symbols on the side are likely to represent kill counts. The Widowmaker is based on the Republic Space Rangers' plasma machine gun, which is a TV show inside the GTA World.
