If the developer Codemasters were on their schedule, we would have GRID in our PC right a week ago. However, after getting many positive reviews from its introduction in E3 2019, the developer has chosen to delay the launch of GRID a little bit.
And it seems that delay is their last one, as the developer has released another beautiful cinematic trailer to prepare for the upcoming launch. This trailer gives a lot of insights about the game, which you can see for yourself below:
Get Your Heart Racing!
Initially, the fourth installment of the car racing series - GRID was planned to come out on September 13. However, in order to better polish the game, the developer Codemasters has decided to postpone it until October. And as the release date is coming close, it has revealed a new in-engine trailer to raise the heat up.
From the trailer, we can see the breath-taking race between the Audi R8 1:1 versus the Honda CRX MightyMouse. With the background music of The Light by Sophie and the Giants, the two cars are racing relentlessly on the new map of Okutama Sprint.
The trailer soon switches to some tradition race tracks of Zhejiang and Brands Hatch. In there, we can admire the tension between the Chevrolet Corvette C7.R and the SRT Viper GTS-R, as they hick, bump and scratching each other's paint on the road. These are only some of the best car in the game, among more than 70 vehicles for you to choose from.
Furthermore, the trailer also showcases the game's beautiful and detailed visuals with the weather effects. To be more specific, there is a scene featuring the Acura DPi and Cadillac DPi-V.R racing in the night on the streets of Shanghai - one of the new locations in this installment. The race ends with a climactic scene of the two cars competing for every millimeter to the finishing line.
Last but not least, this GRID trailer also shows the variety of AI personalities in the game as well. They've told media outlets that there will be more than 400 AI personalities created, which varies from the most "cool" ones to the most "aggressive" ones. They'll be randomly chosen, making the races in GRID will be unpredictable, which matches the aims of Codemasters to deliver the most realistic races in real life to video games.
Release date of GRID
Codemasters doesn't forget to remind the fans about the official release date of the game in the trailer's description. If there are no further delays, GRID will come out for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on October 11.
PC gamers can pre-order the game now on Steam, with nearly $60 for the base game. That's not a cheap price at all, but it's reasonable considering for the best successor of the series and the game receiving the award of Best Racing Game at Gamescom 2019.
Additionally, there's also another Ultimate edition on Steam as well at the price of $79.99. To be more specific, the extra $20 that you have to pay for this version includes the following items:
- 3-day Early Access to the game (start on October 8);
- The contents of three first seasons;
- A package containing five special GRID Edition cars, including the Aston Martin Vantage GT4, the Pontiac Firebird Modified, the Chevrolet Corvette C7.R, the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI Time Attack, and the Renault R26;
