This guide breaks down ways to stack cash in Grand Theft Auto 5 story mode, including some infinite money glitches. Here’s how to max out your wallet in GTA 5!

Executive Week Gta Online

Armored Car Robberies

Spot a blue dot on the map? That’s an armored car.

If it’s parked and someone’s walking toward it with a briefcase, take them out for a quick GTA$3,000–8,000.

Or, steal the car and crack open the back doors. Easiest way? Drive it into water. You can also toss sticky bombs on the back to blow it open, but heads-up—this gives you 3 wanted stars.

Armored cars pop up in set spots. There’s a group of five close together in downtown Los Santos, around Little Seoul and La Puerta. Others are in Cypress Flats, Vinewood, and Paleto Bay. Check a map for exact spots.

ATM Robberies

Hang near ATMs and wait for folks to pull out cash before you rob them. You’ll usually get GTA$30–120, way more than the usual GTA$10–20 NPCs carry.

Problem is, NPCs notice if you’re acting sketchy and might bail from the ATM, leaving you with the lower amount. Best move? Knock them out with a non-lethal weapon before grabbing the cash. The number of people hitting up ATMs seems random, but each ATM has its own flow.

Easy $100,000 Mission

This mission can pop up for any of the three main characters.

While you’re cruising (especially as Franklin near his house), a blue marker might show up near Little Bighorn Avenue in Rancho, southeast of the city.

If it does, check it out. It could be a kid named Gray Nicholson saying his bike got jacked. Get it back for him, and later he’ll text you, revealing he’s loaded and sending you $100,000.

Infinite Store Robberies

Here’s a trick to keep hitting Ammu-Nation stores since the cash in their registers comes back fast.

  • Head to any open store.
  • Take out the clerk from the doorway with a silenced gun to stay low-key.
  • Open the cash registers with a melee hit or a silenced shot.
  • Leave the store, walk about three car lengths away (you’ll figure out the distance with practice).
  • Go back in—the money’s back!
  • Grab it, leave, and keep repeating.

Infinite Money #1

Money Box Location

Note: This got patched. The character-switching trick only works on unpatched game versions. But you can quick save, reload, and the briefcase will respawn.

Swim or take a boat to the spot shown on the Paleto Bay map, then dive to the ocean floor.

You’ll find a sunken plane, and to its right, a treasure box with $12,000. Grab it, switch characters, then switch back. The box should be back. If not, swim farther away and try the switch again. Repeat as much as you want.

Infinite Money #2

Paletocase

Note: Same patch issue as above.

This works like the last one, but the box has $20,000. It’s in a sunken ship at the Tataviam Mountains. Check the map for the exact spot.

Infinite Money #3

Tataviamcase

Note: Same patch issue as above.

Same deal as before, but this box has $25,000, plus an MG SMG Rifle in the wreckage. Follow the long pole to a slab where the gun sits. There’s also an Armor vest near some rocks (face the wreckage with the briefcase on your left, hull door in front, and the vest is on your right). Grenades are right by the wreckage too. Don’t hunt for the rifle at night—it’s tough to spot.

Infinite Money #4

Infinite Money Glitch 4

Note: Patched like the others. Use quick save and reload for the briefcase to respawn.

Same setup as before, but the briefcase has $9,000. You’ll also find weapons like an UZI, Pump Action Shotgun, Sticky Bombs, Grenades, Sniper Rifle, and Carbine Assault Rifle. It’ll take about 15 minutes to grab everything. Avoid searching at night—it’s easy to lose track.

Save Sonny’s Daughter — $60K

Paleto Bay

This covers a random encounter that pays $60,000.

Head to the dirt road in northern Paleto Bay (check the map). You’ll find two guys about to kill a girl, who’s mob boss Sonny’s daughter.

Take out the guys, drive her to Vinewood, and later she’ll call and wire you $60,000.

Assassinations

Lester’s assassination missions let you mess with the stock market for big profits. To max out your cash, wait until after the main story and use your earnings from The Big Score to buy stocks. Sell them after the assassination for a huge payout. The Hotel Assassination is the only one needed for the story, so hold off on the others until you’re done with the main game.

Track Loot And Collectibles With Chop

Take Franklin’s dog Chop (from Lamar) on walks, and he’ll sniff out loot like spaceship parts. Makes finding stuff way easier.

Bust The Marijuana Farm

This one’s only for Trevor, on Thursdays during the day.

Farmlocation

Head down a dead-end path on the east side of Mount Chiliad to find a small drug stash house with weed-growing crooks. Take out the guards in a quick fight, and loot the place for at least GTA$60,000, often more. The spot respawns, so you can hit it again later.
