This guide will help you complete GTA 5 Surveying The Score mission with Gold Medal. In GTA 5, Surveying The Score can only be unlocked after you have completed Hang Ten mission. You will be playing as Trevor and Michael to complete this mission.
The mission objectives of GTA 5 Surveying The Score :
- Reach the Union Depository.
- Head to the front of Arcadius Business Center.
- Go to Sandy Shores Airfield.
- Go into the helicopter.
- Fly the helicopter to Murrieta Heights.
- Keep track the convoy.
- Find the entrance of the construction site.
- Head back to Sandy Shores Airfield and land the helicopter there.
- Drive Franklin back to his house.
The requirements to get the Gold Medal for Surveying The Score GTA 5:
- Perfect Distance - Follow the Securicars with being warned on distance.
- Cavity Search - Spot the construction site in less than 20 seconds.
- Under the Bridge - Fly under the bridge while tracking the security vans.
- Tunnel Flight - Fly through the tunnel while tracking the security vans.
- Time - Complete the mission within 11:00.
Part 1: Drive to the bank
After the cutscene, you will be controling Micheal. Get into your car with Franklin and drive to the Depository entrance. After that, follow the yellow route on the mini-map to reach the back entrance. Park your car across the street and then you will be switched to Trevor.
Part 2: Tracking the vans
As Trevor, drive toward the Sandy Shores Airfield to get into the helicopter (Frogger). Wait for Lester to get in and then fly toward South to the Murrieta Heights district to find the money vans. You will not see the convoy on the radar so always try to have their visuals. However, you wouldn't want to get too close to them or you won't just lose the Gold Medal but fail the whole mission. The vans will make frequent stops because of red light, ... etc so be careful.
It will be much easier if you switch to the third-person perspective. Using cinematic camera from time to time so you can fly the helicopter straight easily.
If you see any bridge on the way, try to fly beneath at least one of them for the Gold Medal.
Near the end of this phase, the vans will go into a tunnel. If you are trying to get Gold Medal, then you need to fly into that tunnel right away. Carefully navigate your helicopter so it won't hit the wall too many times or else it will explode. In GTA 5 Surveying The Score mission, this is probably the hardest part.
After that, there will be a cutscene showing the vans is entering a garage. Then you need to immediately fly behind the bank right after you have the control of the helicopter back and hover low above the construction site there. You only have less than 20 seconds to do this or else you won't be able to get Gold Medal.
Stay there for a while until Lester tells you that everything is done. From here, you will have 2 options. You can either play as Trevor and fly the helicopter back to Sandy Shores Airfield and land there or switch to Michael to drive Franklin back to his home. Either way will complete the mission without any change to how the mission ends.
Tips
- There is a bug in GTA V Surveying The Score. If you choose to drive Franklin to his house, don't switch between Michael and Trevor many times or the mission will be counted as a fail for "abandoning Franklin" when Michael drives off.
- Skip all the cutscenes will give you a lot of time to finish the mission within 11:00.
- You can practice flying through the tunnel several times before doing the Surveying The Score GTA 5 mission.
