Paintings have been a staple feature in Minecraft for quite a while now. Their main purpose is for decoration - players can put paintings up to give their base a more "homely" feel. In this article, we are going to showcase how to make all paintings in Minecraft 1.19.

1. About paintings in Minecraft

Currently, paintings in Minecraft do not spawn naturally anywhere in the world - players need to craft them. There are 26 paintings in the game currently, and every time a painting is placed, one of the 26 images is chosen. For some reason, paintings that face towards the north or south sides in Minecraft appear brighter than those facing east or west.

Outside of decoration purposes, paintings are most commonly used to conceal a secret entrance to the player's secret base. Players and mobs are able to walk through paintings, as long as the blocks supporting the painting allow it.

2. How to make paintings in Minecraft 1.19

Step 1: Prepare the ingredients

Paintings can be created fairly easily, as they do not require any rare block. The only things you need are 8 sticks and 1 piece of wool (any color). Players can acquire sticks using any 2 pieces of planks or bamboo. Wool, on the other hand, can only be harvested from sheep. Using shears on an adult sheep yields 1-3 wool.

Step 3: Place the painting

Just hold the painting in hand and place it where you want,

When placed, a painting would check for the largest amount of space it has. It then chooses a random painting of that size. The player can add blocks around the painting to ensure it is the size wanted. The paintings in Minecraft come in sizes of 1x1, 2x1, 2x2, 4x2, 4x3 and 4x4. If you want to create all paintings in Minecraft, place them based on the list in section 3.

3. List of all paintings in Minecraft

The 26 paintings in the game are mostly based on paintings by Kristoffer Zetterstrand, who also contributed to creating Minecraft.
