The Wither is one of the two bosses in Minecraft. It is usually regarded as the "bonus boss", as you can only summon it after defeating the dragon. Upon death, the Wither drops the key to a beacon called the Nether Star. In this article, we are going to showcase how to defeat the Wither as efficiently as possible.
How to beat The Wither in Minecraft
1 - How to summon a Wither?
To summon a wither in Minecraft, you need to get three Wither Skulls by farming Wither Skeletons. Get a sword with Looting III and start working on it - you might need to kill hundreds of skeletons to get them. At least this Minecraft mob is not too challenging. You can also try to lead a Charged Creeper through a portal - its explosions guaranteed a skull drop from Wither Skeletons.
Build a T block with Soul Sand or Soul Soil, then place the three skulls on top. Upon spawning, the Wither would cause a big explosion, clear out everything in the area.
2 - Requirements before fighting the Wither
As the Wither is essentially Minecraft's strongest enemy, you need a full set of end game gear to beat the Wither in a straight fight. A full set of diamond/netherite armor and weapons are required, along with lots of healing, regeneration potions and food. You also need Milk to cure the Wither effect as well.
Note that if you are playing in Bedrock Edition, this may not be enough, as the wither has double the health, spawns wither skeletons on half health and can use the deadly dash attack.

3 - Where to fight the Wither
It is best to summon the Wither in Overworld, in an underground section. This would prevent it from flying away and avoid your attacks. Once you pick a summoning spot, build a base with obsidian - the Wither's normal attacks can't break it.
4 - How to beat the Wither
Upon death, the Wither drops a Nether Star, which can be used to craft a beacon. Here's how to defeat the Wither in Minecraft in several ways.
Hit and run
You can just keep pelting at it with arrows while healing yourself. When it is down to 50%, pull out your sword and strength II potion and finish it off. Just watch out for its charge attack in Bedrock edition. Use the Obsidian base as cover when needed.
Snow Golems
The player can dig a small room, fill it with about 30 snow golems then finish the Wither off with the golems as decoys.
Deep tunnel
Build a long, narrow tunnel, summon the wither on one side then retreat back into the tunnel while shooting it. Once the wither reaches the armor stage and stuck inside the tunnel, jump out and finish it. You can also fill the tunnel with TNT blocks then blow them up.
