Minecraft 1.20 is coming out very soon, bringing a massive number of changes and additions to the world of Minecraft. Amongst them, the new Cherry Grove biome is probably the most exciting.

Therefore, in this article, Gurugamer is going to showcase how to find Cherry Grove in Minecraft 1.20.

1. What is Cherry Grove Biome in Minecraft

Cherry Grove is a new overworld biome bring added to the game with the Minecraft 1.20 update. It is based on the real life cherry blossom forest. The Cherry Grove biomes often generate next to snowy mountains and on top of smaller hills, the same place as the Meadow biome.

What are the mob spawns in this biome?

Currently, there are no exclusive mob for this biome. However, players can find bees, black rabbits, cows, sheep and pigs here. At times, if there’s a snowy mountain nearby, you can also encounter goats here.

Overall, these spawns make it fairly easy to create a bee/honey farm, making cherry grove a great starting point if you want to have a peaceful Minecraft run.

2. How to Find Cherry Grove in Minecraft

From natural search to a few tricks, there are a bunch of ways to find the Cherry Grove biome in Minecraft 1.20. Let’s explore all of them to uncover the one that suits you.

Using console command

Enter your world and open your chat console.

Enter the command "/locate biome minecraft:cherry_grove" without quotations and then press enter. You should receive a set of coordinates pointing to your closest cherry grove biome.

Optionally, if you don't want to walk or ride to the listed coordinates, you can use the /teleport or /tp command by entering "/tp (X) (Y) (Z)" where X, Y, and Z are the coordinates provided to you by the /locate command.

Manually search

If you want to play the game properly and did not enable cheat, just scour the mountains for cherry groves. These biomes generate at the same location as meadows, in the foothills of mountains.

They are temperate in nature so players should just stick with plains and avoid cold or arid biomes. Cherry groves are actually pretty easy to spot from afar (with high render distance) as their trees are in vivid pink.

Additionally, it may not be a bad idea to use amethyst shards and copper ingots to craft a spyglass and zoom in on the horizon. This might allow players to spot a faraway cherry grove if their standard sight isn't helping.

Create Single Biome World

Another alternative way to enjoy the biome if you don't want to explore - just create a world with only the Cherry Grove biome.

To do this, just create a new world and change its world type to "Single Biome" and select "Cherry Grove" in the Customize option. The new world that Minecraft creates will consist entirely of Cherry Groves.

3. Best Cherry Grove Seed in Minecraft

The cherry grove biome can be hard to find, as they have a fairly low chance to appear near mountains. If you want to start near a cherry grove biome, using this seed should be the fastest way. It will spawn you just a few hundred blocks away from 2 Cherry Grove biomes. Additionally, there is also a plains village next to one of the biome.

4. Everything to know about Cherry Trees

Cherry is the 9th type of tree spawning in Minecraft. They are the biggest gift of the Cherry grove biome and spawn exclusively here.

Cherry Grove
Cherry trees are fairly big.

The cherry trees in Minecraft have bright pink leaves with a hint of green branches behind them. They create atmospheric pink petal particles, which makes the biome looks very unique. Additionally, a single cherry tree carries enough leaves for 2-3 oak trees - this adds to the cheerful atmosphere of the biome without making it feel crowded.

As the cherry trees in the biome spawn rather sparse, players can build a base in this biome fairly easily.

Cherry wood set

Added a new Cherry wood set, with all the corresponding wooden things you can make from it. You need to have the Update 1.20 experimental features enabled to see it in the game.

How to Grow Cherry Trees

If you want to take these beautiful cherry trees from their home biome back to your base, you will need to acquire cherry saplings. Similar to other tree saplings - cherry tree leaves have 50% chance to spawn a sapling when broken. As cherry tree has more leaves than the usual tree, players should be able to get enough sapling for their base decoration in no time.

Once you have acquired cherry saplings, plant them on dirt and moss blocks by right-clicking. To get a full sized cherry tree, make sure to leave a 5 x 5 empty area around the tree, with at least 9 empty blocks on top of it.

It will take about 10-20 minutes of real time for the sapling to become a cherry tree. You can use bone meal on the saplings to speed up their growth.
