Dune: Awakening is finally here—kind of—and it’s getting a solid response so far.

I say “kind of” because it’s in an early access phase right now, limited to folks who shelled out for the pricier versions of the game. Even so, it’s already pulling strong numbers on Steam.

The game only launched for early access on June 5, but it’s off to a great start for Funcom’s survival epic. As of now, it hit a peak of 93,634 players online at once on Steam, with over 60,000 still playing. Things dipped a bit overnight, but there was some server maintenance, so that makes sense.

For a game where you need to drop $70 or $90 to jump in early, those are some solid first-day stats. Plus, since it’s only on PC via Steam right now, this gives a pretty clear picture of how the game’s doing.

To find and farm Flour Sand in Dune Awakening

  1. Locate Flour Sand Deposits: Look for areas with white dust rising above the ground, indicating bright, fine sand. The best spot is Vermilius Gap in open sands.
  2. Manual Collection: You can gather Flour Sand by hand, but this is slow and inefficient.
  3. Use a Static Compactor: Unlock this tool by completing the Second Trial of AQL. It compacts Flour Sand and Spice Sand into clumps, making collection faster. Be cautious, as it generates noise that may attract sandworms.
  4. Safer Farming: Farm near rocky areas to minimize sandworm encounters.
  5. Check Containers: Flour Sand can also be found in containers scattered across the game world, so explore thoroughly.
Tip: Keep an eye out for deposits and containers while moving through the open world to maintain a steady supply for crafting Silicone Blocks and other recipes.
