Copper Bulb is an upcoming feature in Minecraft 1.21. This new block will have many uses in this creative game. Let's check out how to get and use Minecraft Copper Bulb block to get well-prepared for the upcoming edition.

#1. What Is Copper Bulb?

Copper Bulb is one of the upcoming features in Minecraft 1.21. This new block will emit light and light up your in-game houses and buildings. The new glowing block will be added to the trial chamber in Minecraft 1.21. You can find many copper bulbs inside those chambers on your exploration trip.

As the light-emitting blocks are purely made from copper, they can be oxidized, which reduces the illumination level of the bulb. When it turns from orange to green, the copper bulb is weathered or oxidized. Then, the light will also get dimmer.

#2. How To Get Copper Bulb

You can go mining and farm materials to craft copper bulbs for your house. It's very simple to craft your own copper bulb in Minecraft to decorate and light up your house. Firstly, gather the following materials.

  • Copper blocks x3;
  • Redstone dust x1;
  • Blaze rod x1;
  • Crafting table x1.

Then, you set the crafting table on the ground and arrange materials in the following order to create your copper bulb.

Minecraft 1 21 Update
You can craft your copper bulbs according to this recipe.
  1. Put the Blaze rod in the center grid of the crafting table.
  2. Three copper blocks should be placed in the second, fourth, and sixth grids (on the top and two sides of the Blaze rod).
  3. The Redstone dust should be put in the middle grid of the bottom row.

You can use new, exposed, weathered, or oxidized copper blocks to craft your lamp. Then, you will get the weathered or oxidized bulb with dimmer light. Don't worry, there are ways to remove the oxidation and make your bulb brighter. Let's check them out in the next part!

Copper Bulb Stages
Copper bulbs have four stages of light, including normal, oxidation, weathered, and exposed.

#3. How To Use Copper Bulb

Weathered and oxidized copper bulbs can be waxed to improve the illumination level. There are two ways to remove or prevent oxidation for these light-emitting blocks.

  • Use lightning bolts or axes to remove the layer of oxidation covering the bulbs.
  • Wax the bulb with a honeycomb to prevent oxidation. You can apply honeycomb to your copper block by putting an exposed, weathered, or oxidized copper block and a honeycomb on the crating table. Then, you will get a waxed bulb. This work helps prevent the oxidation from progressing.
