Minecraft is a sandbox game that's heavily centered on building and crafting. Creating a structure is the easy part - decorating, however, would usually take a lot of time and effort. In Minecraft 1.20, players can use many in-game blocks and items to make their builds look better.

In this article, Gurugamer is going to showcase the top 10 best Decorative blocks in Minecraft latest version.

1. Emerald

Emeralds are the main currency for trading with Minecraft villagers, where you can purchase rare items and useful materials. Because of their monetary value, Emerald mine is really rare in the overworld.

In order to get enough emeralds to create buildings, a Trading farm is a must. There are multiple ways to do this, but the easiest way is to create a big sugarcane farm and get a lot of librarian villagers to trade.

2. Bamboo block

Bamboo blocks are going to have all the functions a normal wood block has. Players can use bamboo wood to craft bamboo planks, blocks, and more.

Additionally, bamboo wood can also be used to create bamboo mosaic blocks, which have horizontal and vertical bamboo designs. They are going to be great decoration materials and can also be converted into stairs and slabs.

3. Cherry wood block

Cherry is the 9th type of tree spawning in Minecraft. They are the biggest gift of the Cherry grove biome and spawn exclusively here. Cherry wood has a pink shade, which would look very pretty in builds.

The cherry trees in Minecraft have bright pink leaves with a hint of green branches behind them. They create atmospheric pink petal particles, which makes the biome looks very unique. Additionally, a single cherry tree carries enough leaves for 2-3 oak trees - this adds to the cheerful atmosphere of the biome without making it feel crowded.

4. Decorated Pots

Pottery Shards have pictures on them. They cannot be crafted and are only found by brushing Suspicious Sand. Currently, there are 4 different images of shards: Arms Up, Skull, Prize, and Archer.

Crafting four Pottery Shards together will create a Decorated Pot with a picture on each side. You can also use Brick items instead of Pottery Shards in the Decorated Pot recipe, however, the sides that were made from Brick items will not have pictures.

Players can smash a Decorated Pot with any block-breaking tool to break it apart and get the Pottery Shards back. Alternatively, just hit it with your fist to pick up the pot without breaking it.

5. Glazed Terracotta

Glazed terracotta is a vibrant solid block that comes in the 16 regular dye colors, obtained by smelting colored terracotta. They are the intended "decorative blocks" in Minecraft.

6. Stained glass

Creating glass in Minecraft is pretty straightforward, players can just smelt sand blocks inside a furnace to create glass. Sand is one of the most common blocks out there - they spawn in many biomes of the Overworld, especially deserts and beaches. Players can also find them near lakes, ponds and rivers.

Players can dye glass manually using various dyes or find them in certain structures. There is also tinted glass, which is pretty similar in appearance to stained glass. However, the block has different properties - it blocks light while being visually transparent. Tinted glass can be created using a normal glass block and 4 amethyst shards.

7. Deepslate Bricks

This is a new block added to the game as part of the Caves and Cliffs update. It can be crafted with normal Deepslate blocks.

Overall, its particular texture is great for castle and fortress builds. Coincidentally, Deepslate brick is also one of the strongest blocks in the game and is very slow to mine. Players can't even increase their mining speed with a beacon.

8. Honey block

Honey blocks are sticky and can be used in conjunction with pistons to move blocks and adhered entities. These blocks are also useful in builds as you can slow down enemies with them.

There are many uses for honey blocks.

To create a honey block, just combine 4 honey bottles together.

9. Chiseled Bookshelf

Each chiseled bookshelf requires 6 wood planks and 3 wood slabs. This is a much easier requirement than the normal bookshelf which requires books instead of planks. You can use any type of wood to craft it, and the planks don't even need to be of the same type. However, the appearance of the shelf would stay the same.

After placing the Chiseled bookshelf, just equip the book item you want to store (books, books and quills, written books, and enchanted books), then right-click or use the secondary action key on the chiseled bookshelf. The chiseled bookshelf will get filled each time you place an item. Each shelf can store up to 6 books.

10. Crying Obsidian/Obsidian

Obsidian is amongst the most durable blocks in Minecraft, which makes it great for building structures. The rarer version, Crying Obsidian, comes with a special luminous effect that creates purple droplets when placed.
