To beat mobs in Minecraft, hitting them with weapons is not the only way. Players can make use of mechanics to create explosions and finish them off - in fact, the "Bed explosive" strategy has been used in a lot of speed runs. In this article, Gurugamer is going to showcase the top 6 most powerful explosions you can create in Minecraft.

1. Wither explosion

The Wither is a summonable extra boss in Minecraft. To prevent players from getting easy kills by summoning them inside traps, the Wither's arrival causes an explosion with a power level of 7. This explosion deals 102 damage (51 hearts) at Hard to nearby mobs/players, based on distance.

However, upon reaching half health in Bedrock, the Wither explodes again with even higher intensity (power level of 8). This is the most destructive explosion in the game and is the reason why Bedrock's Wither is harder than Java.

These explosions destroy even obsidians. This is the only mob that can destroy this block in Minecraft.

2. End Crystals

An end crystal is found atop each obsidian pillar on the central island of the End, each on top of a piece of bedrock. There are 10 end crystals in total, of which two of them are protected in "cages" of iron bars. All end crystals respawn one after another as the respawning process of the ender dragon starts.

Upon destruction, end crystals explode with a power of 6. It can deal up to 127.5 damage at hard, which is even higher than a Wither explosion.

3. Charged Creepers

When struck by lightning, a creeper becomes charged, which amplifies its explosion power and enables mob heads to be obtained. A charged creeper explosion has the same explosive power and damage as an end crystal explosion.

Players can manually create them by using tridents with channeling or lightning rods.

4. Bed explosion

A bed is a block that allows a player to sleep and to reset their spawn point to within a few blocks of the bed in the Overworld. When they are in the Nether, however, the bed becomes a dangerous object, exploding after a few seconds with a power level of 5.

This is a mechanic that prevents players from exploring the Nether for too long without sleeping. Ghast would be summoned to attack them.

5. Respawn anchor

The respawn anchor is a block that allows players to set their spawn point in The Nether. It is a replacement to the bed which also has the added ability to explode.

Upon destruction, the respawn anchor explodes with a power level of 5, dealing the same damage as a bed explosion/charged creeper.

6. TNT

Despite being the only true explosive in the game, TNT is nowhere near being the source of the biggest explosion. They only have a power level of 4, which results in a fairly modest range and damage.

The best part about TNT is that any blocks destroyed by its explosions drop their respective items. This means players can use this mechanic to mine faster.
