Minecraft is full of a variety of different tools, and each tool can go with a different type of Enchantment. In this article, we are going to showcase the best enchantments for Tools in Minecraft and how to acquire them.
1 - Silk Touch
Silk Touch is a special enchantment that allows players to get blocks instead of the usual items when mined. This saves you the trouble of having to process the items further to get the block. There are quite a few items that you can only get using a Silk Touch enchanted tool.
Players can place silk touch enchantment on four different tools: pickaxe, shovel, axe, and hoe. One can get silk touch in Minecraft through enchanting and trading, or as random spawn inside loot chests.
2 - Fortune
The Fortune enchantment is pretty simple. It allows users to get more of the items they mined with the enchanted tool. Usually, you only get one gem per block of ore... and this enchantment gives you more than one. For extracting rare ores such as diamonds, having a Fortune 3 pickaxe is essential. Silk Touch and Fortune are mutually exclusive.
Fortune III can be acquired via a max level enchantment table. However, you can combines tools with Fortune I from the shops to get Fortune II, and merge the Fortune IIs to get Fortune III. Fortune I tools are quite common in shops.
3 - Mending
Mending is an enchantment that restores the durability of an item using experience. Any gear you equip will have its durability restored by experience orbs. The rate is two durabilities per point of experience contained in the orb.
Being the most powerful enchantment in Minecraft, mending counts as a treasure. It can't be obtained via an Enchanting table. You can only get it from chest loot, fishing, raids, or trading.
4 - Lure
Fishing is actually one of the easiest ways to get items in Minecraft. While the wait time for a fish biting your hook isn't too long, it can stacks up over time. The Lure enchantment mitigates this problem by decreasing the wait time for players to get a fish on their fishing rod. There are 3 levels of Lure - the wait time is decreased by 5 seconds each level.
Lure can be acquired as a random effect from the Enchanting table. You can also get items with Lure in chests.
5 - Unbreaking
Overall, Unbreaking is one of the most common enchantments in Minecraft. It can be applied to pretty much anything. Unbreaking gives your gear a chance to avoid durability reduction when it is used so that they last much longer than usual.
While it is not nearly as good as mending, Unbreaking is easier to get. You can find it in shops or create it using an enchantment table.
