Indian gaming company Nazara Technologies has acquired UK-based PC and console game publisher Curve Games in a deal worth INR 247 crores, expanding its global footprint beyond mobile gaming.

Acquisition Details and Financial Overview
Nazara Technologies has purchased 100% ownership of Curve Digital Entertainment Ltd for INR 247 crores (GBP 21.7 million). This acquisition gives India's only publicly listed gaming company access to new platforms and markets. In fact, the deal opens doors to the US $100 billion global PC and console gaming market.
Curve Games has demonstrated strong financial performance recently. During calendar year 2024, the company generated INR 263.5 crores (approximately GBP 24.4 million) in revenue. Additionally, it reported an EBITDA of INR 114.4 crores (GBP 10.6 million) and profit before tax of INR 49.6 crores (GBP 4.6 million).
The UK-based publisher brings an established track record to the partnership. Over the years, Curve Games' titles have accumulated more than 100 million downloads worldwide. Furthermore, the company has a significant presence across key gaming markets including North America, Asia Pacific, and Europe.
Strategic Benefits for Both Companies
This acquisition aligns with Nazara's long-term business strategy. Above all, the deal expands Nazara's portfolio beyond mobile gaming into PC and console markets. The Indian company has consistently built its business through targeted acquisitions in interactive gaming and sports media.
For Nazara, the partnership offers several strategic advantages. First, it strengthens the company's global publishing capabilities. Second, it enables cross-platform IP development opportunities. Finally, it accelerates Nazara's global expansion plans beyond its traditional markets.
Curve Games will also benefit from this arrangement. The publisher gains access to emerging markets through Nazara's established presence. Moreover, the partnership provides stability and resources for future growth in the independent games publishing space.
Leadership Perspectives
Nitish Mittersain, CEO of Nazara Technologies, emphasized the strategic importance of the acquisition. "Curve's proven expertise in PC and Console publishing makes them an ideal partner as we expand our focus beyond mobile," he stated. He also highlighted how Curve Games could serve as "a gateway to the world for Indian game developers."
On the other side, Stuart Dinsey, Executive Chairman of Curve Games, expressed optimism about joining Nazara. "Nazara's ecosystem, access to emerging markets and long-term orientation make them a strong strategic partner," he noted. Both leaders appear aligned in their vision of building a global indie publishing platform.
