Indian BGMI fans can finally cheer again. After a three-year absence from international competition, India is returning to the big global stage of PUBG Mobile esports. Two squads — Orangutan and True Rippers — will carry the flag for the country at the PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) 2025 in Thailand.

This marks the end of a long wait that started after GodLike Esports played in PMGC 2021. India has been out of the world championship ever since, and now 2025 brings the comeback everyone was hoping for.

Orangutan Leads India’s Comeback at Global Championship

All eyes are on Orangutan, who will jump straight into the tough Gauntlet Stage that kicks off on 24 November 2025. It’s the opening phase of PMGC 2025 and brings together some of the best teams worldwide.

Orangutan is coming in hot with a lineup that has owned the Indian scene this year. Led by their star IGL Aaru, the team has a scary assault line-up of Akop, WizzGod, and Attanki. Their 2025 record speaks for itself:

  • Champions of BMSD 2025
  • Champions of iQOO Battlegrounds Series 2025
  • 3rd place at the BGIS 2025 Kolkata LAN

They’re carrying serious momentum and experience, so expect them to fight hard to put India back on the global map. True Rippers, on the other hand, will start in the Group Stage, meaning India has two solid shots at making noise internationally.

PMGC 2025 Gauntlet Stage: Dates, Format, and Teams

Sixteen teams that qualified through their regional events will compete. Over three days they’ll play 18 matches (six each day). The top 7 teams advance directly to the Grand Finals; everyone else drops into the Group Stage.
