LONDON, April 13, 2025 - Regnum Carya Esports has won the 2025 PUBG MOBILE Global Open (PMGO) championship at the Zo'r TV venue in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The Turkish team claimed the title with 106 points across 12 matches, securing their first international championship in PUBG MOBILE Esports.
The victory represents a triumphant comeback for the team after their narrow one-point defeat at the 2024 PUBG MOBILE Global Championship (PMGC) last December. Team member Sylas achieved a personal milestone by winning his second global championship title, having previously won the 2022 PMGC with another team.
As champions, Regnum Carya Esports claims the largest share of the $500,000 prize pool and earns an additional qualifying slot for their region at the upcoming 2025 PUBG MOBILE World Cup (PMWC), which will be part of the Esports World Cup in Riyadh.
The Grand Finals featured a mix of professional and amateur teams competing across two days. Amateur team R8 Esports opened day one with a Chicken Dinner victory and 12 eliminations. Nigma Galaxy responded in Match 2 with a win powered by star player Raouf's six eliminations. Another amateur team, GOAT Quality, surprised spectators with two podium finishes that positioned them in third place by day's end. Regnum Carya Esports led the first day with two Chicken Dinners and an 11-point advantage.
Day two brought challenges for Regnum Carya Esports, who struggled early and failed to secure additional wins despite earning elimination points. GOAT Quality and Uzbekistan team THE721 AGGRESSOR mounted serious challenges. Both Regnum Carya Esports and GOAT Quality passed the 80-point SMASH tournament threshold during the final matches.
The final game saw Regnum Carya Esports eliminated early by 4Merical Vibes. GOAT Quality maintained strong positioning until encountering Nepali amateur team NEPX Esports in a fierce battle that ended their championship hopes. THE721 AGGRESSOR won the final match, but Regnum Carya Esports had accumulated enough points to secure the overall championship. Player DOK from 4Merical Vibes earned MVP recognition with 19 eliminations, 17 knocks, and nine assists.
James Yang, Senior Director of Global Esports at Level Infinite, stated: "What an amazing way to start the 2025 PUBG MOBILE Esports circuit. I'd like to thank all the players who signed up for the Open Qualifiers and took their first step toward becoming pros. Ahead of us is an exciting year for PUBG MOBILE Esports."
The tournament marked the first international PUBG MOBILE Esports event in Uzbekistan, representing a milestone for esports in Central Asia. Over 90,000 amateur players registered to compete, with eight teams advancing to face professionals in the Grand Finals. Several amateur teams delivered impressive performances that may shape the future competitive landscape of PUBG MOBILE.
