Arlecchino, also called the Knave or the Forth of Eleven Fatui Habingers, has played a significant role in Genshin Impact's Fontaine storyline, boosting excitement among followers for her debut as a playable character.
Arlecchino is a Pyro polearm character, joining as a Main DPS capable of triggering different Elemental Reactions like Overloaded or Vaporize, much like Hu Tao. However, players will still observe distinct variations in their gameplay due to the contrasting mechanics featured in Arlecchino's abilities.
Although mastering Arlecchino's kit may seem confusing at first, once players understand the basic concepts of her gameplay and optimize her build and rotation effectively, her mechanics become straightforward, unlocking her top DPS potential. In this article, we would like to share with you five tips to make use of Arlecchino in Genshin Impact. Let’s check them out now!

1. Understand Well How Arlecchino's Bond of Life Works
The Bond of Life mechanic, initially seen as an enemy-only feature used by Fatui Operatives, is a debuff affecting characters. It hinders their ability to heal until they are either healed beyond their maximum health or receive healing from a Statue of Seven.
Nonetheless, unlike most characters for whom this might be considered a debuff, it truly benefits Arlecchino. She is able to apply Bond of Life to herself at specific health percentages through her actions, such as using her Elemental Burst or Charged Attacks (or with her signature weapon) following casting her Elemental Skill. Owning Bond of Life above a certain threshold enables her to do more damage with normal attacks and infuse them with Pyro.
This indicates that players should prioritize keeping Bond of Life on her rather than attempting to get rid of it. Fortunately, in Arlecchino’s case, she can only be healed by her Elemental Burst and not by any other party members, allowing players to have better control over the amount of Bond of Life as it decreases steadily during her normal attacks.
2. Know Arlecchino’s Rotation
Maintaining a sufficient amount of Bond of Life greatly depends on Arlecchino following a lengthy yet specific rotation to maximize its benefits.
It’s advisable to start with her Elemental Skill, then execute a Charged Attack to acquire Bond of Life. Subsequently, proceed with Normal Attacks (approximately 4-6 times) until her Elemental Burst is either ready or not.
After executing Arlecchini’s Elemental Burst, you can follow up with additional Normal Attacks before repeating the sequence by activating her Elemental Skill again. This results in a rotation pattern like Elemental Skill > Charged Attack > Normal Attacks > Elemental Burst > Normal Attacks > Elemental Skill, and so forth. This general rotation strategy should enable The Knave to stay on the field for prolonged periods without wasting the necessary Bond of Life percentage or the Pyro infusion.
It is worth mentioning that the number of normal attacks done in between can heavily depend on aspects such as whether her 4th attack drains extra Bond of Life, or whether players have her constellation, her Elemental Burst available, or if they have Arlecchino's signature weapon, which also provides an extra Bond of Life Stack.
It's important to note that the number of normal attacks performed in between can vary significantly based on factors like:
- whether Arlecchino’s 4th attack consumes an extra Bond of Life,
- whether you have unlocked her constellation,
- the availability of her Elemental Burst,
- Whether you possess Arlecchino's signature weapon (which grants an extra Bond of Life Stack)

3. Pay Attention to Arlecchino’s Talent Priority
For players aiming to conserve resources while gradually leveling up Arlecchino, it’s crucial to focus on the correct talent, particularly given that she needs a new weekly Boss material to enhance talents beyond level 6.
Therefore, as a main DPS character reliant on Normal attacks, Arlecchino's greatest talent scaling lies within her Normal Attack. So, you had better give priority to maximize this stat to level 9 or 10 before considering leveling up her Elemental Burst or Elemental Skill beyond level 6.
Her Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst are pretty much similar as both don't boost damage by a lot as AoE Pyro attacks. Also, leveling up the Elemental Burst doesn't help with the healing from this skill. So, concentrate on Normal Attacks first, then Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst about the same.
4. Focus on Right Stats in Arlecchino’s Build
Optimizing a character's setup just right is super important for making them as strong as possible. When putting together Arlecchino's kit, whether it's with the new artifact set, Fragment of Harmonic Whimsy, or other choices such as Gladiator's Finale, having the best substats can sometimes matter even more than the set's main effect.
Consequently, it’s highly recommended to focus on boosting Arlecchino's ATK and Crit stats (both Crit DMG and Crit Rate) first because it's typical for DPS-focused characters to prioritize Crit DMG and Crit Rate. Regardless, some might think that Arlecchino's damage also goes up with her HP because of the Bond of Life being linked to it.
Nonetheless, because Bond of Life depends on percentages rather than HP amounts, stacking HP in Arlecchino’s build isn't especially vital, except for providing a bit of extra survivability. On the other hand, ATK is of paramount importance as all her damage boosts scale with it. Furthermore, her ultimate passive ability also provides increased Physical and Elemental Resistance as her ATK rises, offering an additional boost of up to 20%.
For all these things, it's a good idea to keep Arlecchino's ATK at around 3k, which can be achieved by using buffers or other methods. As for a fourth substat, Elemental Mastery can still come in handy, especially when your team is concentrating on the Vaporize reaction.
5. Team Her Up with Other Pyros
Because Arlecchino doesn't have specific limitations like Nilou, she's quite versatile when it comes to team comps. Still, for optimal effectiveness, it's strongly advised to have at least one other Pyro character in your team. This helps capitalize on Pyro Resonance, increasing ATK, Arlecchino’s important stat.
On top of that, specific Pyro supports can significantly boost Arlecchino’s performance. For instance, Bennett is ideal for Vaporize or Mono Pyro teams, while Chevreuse excels in Overloaded teams. Although these characters' healing abilities might not directly aid The Knave, their buffs substantially enhance her damage output. Thence, it's worthwhile for you to invest in them to guarantee Arlecchino operates at her peak.
