Fans of puzzle games are in for a new treat. Recently an independent game designer by the name of Bart Bonte has uploaded a new game simply known as ‘black’ on Google Play Store. Just a couple of days after its release, ‘black’ has had over 50,000 installs. Furthermore, it has also attracted 2,200 reviews, all of them positive. The game currently has a rating of 5 stars on the Play Store.

Solve puzzles to turn the screen black

In this game, you will see only three colors: white, black, and gray, with the first two being prominent. The goal of the game is very simple: You have to make the screen go black. However, there are 50 levels of different difficulties in the game at the moment, and sometimes this simple objective can be easier said than done. For example, there are levels where you simply has to switch a button and the lights will turn off, thus making the screen black. In some others, you might need to completely paint over a white background with black paint, and there are more complicated levels still. Of course, if you have trouble finding the solution, you can always ask the game for some hints.

Overall though, each level is logical in its own way, and there is not much repetition. This is a great thing that sets ‘black’ apart from many other puzzle games.

Some puzzles are trickier than others

You can download the app from Play Store for free. However, it does come with ads. If you want to remove these ads, you will have to pay a one-time fee of $2.50. They don’t cause much trouble though, so even if you don’t want to pay, you can still fully enjoy the game. Game designer Bart Bonte also has 12 other apps on Play Store, including two games called ‘red’ and ‘yellow’. Similar to ‘black’, in these game your task is to solve puzzles to turn the screen into the color that the game is named after.

The mechanics of ‘black’ are extremely simple, yet it has a lot of interesting puzzles. If you are a fan of such games, you should definitely give it a try. You can get ‘black’ on Play Store here.
