Now, you might or might not have heard of game developer Joseph Gribbin, but over the years he has participated in the making of several outstanding Nitrome games such as Hop Swap, Rust Bucket, Turn Undead 2, or the highly-praised puzzle platformer Spike City. Now, Gribbin is making a return with a brand new puzzle game titled Magnibox. Check out its trailer below:
As you can see from the trailer, In Magnibox you’ll control a magnet box and have to utilize the magnetic force to overcome various puzzles. There are 160 stages for you to play through, each with its own challenges, and your goal is to find a way to guide the box to the escaping point. However, there are plenty of obstacles, traps, and other hazards along the way to prevent you from reaching that goal. These include lasers, conveyor belts, breakable blocks, and many more.
To circumvent them, you have to rely on the power of the magnetic force and your creativity. Throughout the levels, you can interact with certain things to put yourself in an advantageous position. For example, facing an anchor point containing positive energy and activating the magnet will pull yourself to it, while doing the same with a negative anchor point will push you away. There are also teleportation portals that will make you appear somewhere else when you jump into it.
In case you didn’t know, Magnibox was already launched on Steam back in March and has since received positive feedback from the gamer community. However, as the developer wrote on his Twitter, since many people have been requesting a mobile port of the game, he has decided to fulfill those demands. Magnibox will be coming to both Android and iOS on May 8, in other words, next week. Given how good Gribbin’s previous titles were, the launch of Magnibox mobile is definitely one worth looking forward to.
