PUBG is the game that caused the massive battle royale fever around the world, paving the way for tons of new battle royale titles on PC and even on mobile.

PUBG Mobile is now one of the biggest mobile esports titles in the world with millions of players and million-dollar tournaments all around the year. PUBG Mobile keeps the same battle royale experience of PUBG PC that everybody loves.

But PUBG Mobile is quite demanding and not all smartphones can run it smoothly so the dev also made PUBG Mobile Lite, which is the lightweight of PUBG Mobile for low-end devices. Here in this article, we will go through every major difference between PUBG Mobile and PUBG Mobile Lite.

1. File Size, Requirements

Here are the requirements of PUBG Mobile:

  • Android version: 5.1.1 and above
  • Ram: At least 2 GB. More than 4GB recommended
  • Storage: 2 GB
  • Processor: A good processor, for example, Snapdragon 425 equivalent.

Here are the requirements of PUBG Mobile Lite:

  • Android version: 4.0.3 and above
  • Ram: At least 1 GB
  • Storage: 600 MB
  • Processor: Not required

As you can see above, the requirements of PUBG Mobile Lite are much lower than PUBG Mobile and almost every single smartphone on the market now can run it. If both games are run on the same device, we can expect PUBG Mobile to run with a more stable FPS and produce less heat.

2. Graphics

The graphics of PUBG Mobile Lite is much less detailed than PUBG Mobile with less effect, lighting, details, texture. If you take a look at the side by side picture of the two games below, you can see the difference between PUBG Mobile and PUBG Mobile Lite graphics is quite obvious.

The color of PUBG Mobile Lite looks dull while PUBG Mobile looks colorful and vibrant. The resolution of the PUBG Mobile Lite is much lower than PUBG Mobile so characters and objects look blurry and not smooth at all.

But since it was made for low-end devices, that is what it takes so the game can run stably. Houses in PUBG Mobile Lite also have fewer furniture and unscary items to reduce the load of the game.

3. Game Mode

Game modes of PUBG Mobile and PUBG Mobile are pretty much the same, but PUBG Mobile has more game modes and is updated with new events more frequently.

Pubg Mobile Game Mode

PUBG Mobile Lite has 3 main game modes: Classic, Arcade Mode, and EvoGround Mode.

  • Classic mode: This is the battle royale mode, where you can play solo, a team of 2 or 4 to fight against other players and be the last one standing.
  • Arcade Mode: This mode features other casual fighting modes that are not the Battle Royale mode such as War and War-RPG.
  • EvoGround Mode: This is where you find time-limited modes that go with some sort of events in the game.

4. Gameplay

Map

PUBG Mobile is currently having 5 battle royale maps: Erangel, Miramar, Sanhok, Vikendi, Livik. The sizes of these maps are varied from 8x8 km to 2x2 km. There are 100 players in each match, and a match takes about 20 minutes to 30 minutes.

PUBG Mobile Lite is currently having 2 battle royale maps: Varenga and Golden Woods. These maps are much smaller than most PUBG Mobile maps but with more loots to encourage a faster game pace. There are only 60 players in each match, and a match takes about 15 minutes to 20 minutes.

Weapons

Since the update of the game is behind PUBG Mobile a few patches, you won't be able to find newer weapons such as the DBS, P90, and the MK12. Overall, the weapon PUBG Mobile collection is still quite large and it shouldn't affect your playing experience that much.

Events

Obviously, since PUBG Mobile is the main game, the dev would put more effort into it and releases more new cool and exciting events than PUBG Mobile Lite. Just recently, PUBG Mobile got a new collaboration with Metro Exodus that introduces a mode called Metro Battle Royale with completely new gameplay.
