Dendro element is probably one of the biggest mysteries in Genshin Impact. It is the only element that players are unable to use and has remained a mystery since the game's release. However, it is still in nature, used by a number of enemies.
It appears that miHoYo is currently working on Dendro in Genshin Impact 2.4. In this article, we are going to showcase everything released so far, including their official name, elemental scaling, and more.
1. Dendro reactions official names
Outside of Burning, there have been two reactions involving Dendro leaked so far: Overdose and Overgrow. However, these are just the names in the game's files - the later leaks have revealed their official translation to be Intensified and Overgrown. Apparently, Overdose is not something miHoYo wants to associate with Genshin Impact.
Overall, while the combination of elements that causes these reactions have not been revealed, however, it is likely to be Electro and Hydro. With Geo and Anemo only having Swirl and Crystallize, and Pyro already having Burning, there are only three Dendro reactions candidates left: Electro, Hydro, and Cryo. Amongst them, only Hydro has the clearest connection to Dendro, with Electro being the second most likely.
As Cryo and Dendro are polar opposite to each other, it would be interesting to see the combination between them.
2. Dendro scaling with Elemental Mastery revealed
Genshin Intel has leaked a chart depicting Dendro reactions' scaling with Elemental Mastery. Apparently, the element might have some very unique scalings and can deal a lot of damage with particular combinations.
Apparently, Overdose (or Intensified), a recent addition to the Genshin Impact elemental reaction roster, scales super well with Elemental Mastery. It is only a little bit weaker than transformative reactions.
The most interesting part, however, is that it has its own scaling, different from other reaction types. This means Overdose might be a completely new type of reaction. Overall, with this scaling, it would be an indirect buff to all Electro characters if Overdose is actually an Electro reaction.
Electro reactions are the weakest in Genshin Impact. This buff can definitely bring them into the meta, alongside Melt and Vaporize.
3. Currently known Dendro characters
Currently, the only known Dendro users in the game are Baizhu and Yao Yao. As miHoYo has yet to formally reveal them as playable, it is difficult to say whether or not they would be added to the roster.
Players expect them to come into the story in the future when the traveler arrives in Sumeru.
