Genshin Impact Fishing — Before Genshin Impact introduces more possible weapons to exchange for fish, know all fish bait recipes to get as many fish as possible.

1. Genshin Impact fish bait recipes

The very first bait you will come across is Fruit Paste Bait. Its recipe will be available as soon as you unlock the fishing feature. Apart from this, there are three more types of Fish Bait in Genshin Impact.

You can buy the blueprints for the above baits from Nantuck, an angler in Mondstadt. Each blueprint requires 3 Medaka, a common fish which are attracted to the regular Fruit Paste Bait. You can also craft the baits in the Crafting Table after having unlocked all Genshin Impact fish bait recipes.

Among all the baits, the recipe for Fruit Paste Bait will be up for grabs immediately after the player finish the Exploding Population quest to unlock the fishing system. On another hand, the recipe for the other three kinds of fish baits has to be bought via the Mondstadt Fishing Association in Mondstadt City.

Making Fish Bait

To make fish bait in Genshin Impact, the player has to get bait recipes by visiting the Fishing Association in each region. What you need to do is to catch and turn Medaka fish to purchase bait, so take a look at the Fishing Spots map in Genshin Impact interactive map to see where you can seek some.

Once the player has been able to get a bait recipe, they can make fish bait at a Crafting Bench.

Using Bait

You can only use bait in the Fishing System of Genshin Impact. When you have had bait in the inventory, pair it with a Fishing Rod and head to the designated spots to catch Fish. The most suitable fishing rod to use depends on the area you are in currently.

When it comes to bait, the game would only allow the player to choose the bait that is currently usable at the fishing spot. Just pick one of those available bait types and cast your line.

4. How to get a fishing rod in Genshin Impact

The fishing system is open only to the players at Adventure Rank 30 and above. You need to complete the first Serenitea Pot world question which opens prior to the Inazuma prologue. Complete it if you have not already.

After downloading the Genshin Impact 2.1 update, go to Mondstadt and talk to Katheryne at the Adventurer’s Guild. This will begin a brief quest that is basically a tutorial for fishing.
