Kuki Shinobu is an Electro Sword user in Genshin Impact. She debuts as part of the second banner in Genshin Impact 2.7 update, alongside Itto. Overall, she is the first Electro healer in the game, who can enable a number of new team comps. In this article, Gurugamer is going to showcase the best Genshin Impact Kuki Shinobu build guide in 2023, including talents, gears and team comp.

Kuki Shinobu turns her sword into a special whip-like weapon.

1. Kuki Shinobu Genshin Impact Overview

Kuki Shinobu is the sidekick of Arataki Itto and Deputy Leader of the Arataki Gang. She handles the gang's legal issues and gets them out of trouble and tries her best to compensate for any damages that Itto might have caused with his antics.

Shinobu using her Burst

Strengths

  • First Electro healer ever, a good addition to certain team comps
  • Scales off HP for both her damage and healing, which makes her easier to build
  • Doesn't require field time to be effective.

Weaknesses

  • Low damage potential.
  • No support skills outside of healing.
  • Weak constellation.

2. How to use Kuki Shinobu effectively?

Overall, Kuki Shinobu's playstyle is very straightforward and requires almost no skill whatsoever.

Try to stay at low HP at all times

Kuki Shinobu's Burst gains almost double the duration when her HP is at 50% or lower. This means players should keep Kuki's HP low at all times to enjoy the damage boost. Furthermore, she also gains a 15% healing bonus (first ascension passive) and 150 Elemental Mastery (C6), which can be moderately useful.

Just cast her skill 2-3 times to get lower than 50% HP, as it drains 30% Current HP every cast. Alternatively, you can just let enemies hit you or jump down a cliff to take fall damage.

Build HP and Elemental Mastery

Kuki's Burst damage scales on her MAX HP, so the higher HP the player builds her, the better.

Her skill, on the other hand, benefits from both MAX HP and elemental mastery. Shinobu's passive talent Heart's Repose increases the healing of her skill by 75% of her Elemental Mastery and its DPS by 25% of her Elemental Mastery. This is the second most important stat for Kuki after MAX HP.

3. Best Genshin Impact Kuki Shinobu build

Overall, players can build Kuki Shinobu as a healer who can deal with some additional electro-DMG applications. She has very low DPS potential due to her bad scaling.

Best Weapon

Freedom-Sworn is the best 5-star option for her.

As Kuki is a 4-star, there is no weapon specifically designed for her. Below are the best weapons to use for Kuki Shinobu:

  • Freedom-Sworn: A decent support sword with a passive that can be triggered by Kuki's skill. Its elemental mastery also increases the healing and damage of her skill. However, the other stats are wasted on her.
  • Primordial Jade Cutter: As Kuki's whole kit scales on HP, the Primordial Jade Cutter is pretty decent on her.
  • Iron Sting: Forgeable weapon with elemental mastery as a secondary stat. Its skill provides a moderate increase to Kuki Shinobu's damage. Overall the best f2p weapon to equip on the character.

Best Artifact

Tenacity Of The Millelith
  • Tenacity Of The Millelith x4
  • Noblesse Oblige x4
  • Tenacity Of The Millelith x2 + Noblesse Oblige x2/Maiden Beloved x2

Overall, the best artifact set for Kuki is the full Millelith set. It buffs Shinobu's burst and fits pretty well with her playstyle of casting everything and then switching out to the DPS character. The long duration of Kuki Shinobu's skill is particularly useful.

Alternatively, players can use any combination of x2 Tenacity Of The Millelith, Noblesse Oblige, Maiden Beloved, Ocean-Hued Clam, Thundering Fury...

Recommended Artifact Sub stats

Overall, players should just get as many HP sub stats as possible, the other stats like ER and EM are useful but do not matter that much.

Main stat Flat ATK Flat HP HP% HP% Healing Bonus

4. Kuki Shinobu Constellations and Talent Priority

Constellations

Kuki Shinobu's constellations are fairly underwhelming overall, with not much utility for her role. Her C6 is particularly useless, as she won't be staying on-field to take damage. The best constellation for Kuki Shinobu is C2, which gives her skill 100% uptime (15 seconds cooldown/duration).

Talent Priority

Overall, Kuki Shinobu users need to max her Elemental Skill first, as it is her main support ability in the team. Afterward, players can level up her Burst if they want Kuki to deal some damage. Her normal attack talent can be completely skipped.

5. What are the best teams for Kuki Shinobu?

Overall, Kuki Shinobu fits in pure Electro teams and taser teams, with her ability to continuously apply Electro while off-field. The advantage of using her over Fischl is that she requires no field time whatsoever, while Fischl has to use her Burst sometimes.

Kuki Shinobu taser team

  • Ayato + Kuki Shinobu + Fischl + Kazuha

Ayato will be the main DPS of this team comp, staying on the field to deal damage with his Hydro-infused normal attacks. He is the Hydro applicator of this taser comp. Players need the best gear possible on him, as Ayato would be carrying most of the fights.

Shinobu can form a taser team with Ayato or Childe

Kuki will be providing electro application and healing in this team. Overall, her job is to quickly swap in and out to cast her skill and burst. Players should keep Kuki's HP low to extend the duration of her Burst as much as possible. Fischl is going to support Kuki in applying Electro damage to enemies - players need to juggle between her Skill and Burst to maximize Oz uptime.

Lastly, Kazuha is the final character for the flex slot. As Kuki Shinobu's Skill scales on Elemental Mastery, Kazuha's buff would benefit her greatly. Hit kit also allows spreading elements around and grouping enemies up.

Kuki Shinobu Thunder Team

  • Raiden Shogun + Kujou Sara + Beidou + Kuki Shinobu

Overall, mono Electro team comps like this require Kujou Sara to be C6 for the highest crit damage possible. As she came out with Raiden Shogun in 2.1, Sara is the perfect companion to support her. In this particular lineup, Raiden Shogun is the main DPS, dealing damage with her burst. Kujou Sara also provides a decent DMG boost to her other Electro teammates, Beidou and Kuki Shinobu.

Players can run a thunder team if they have a maxed Sara.

As the damage of Raiden's burst is based on the energy consumed by team members, both Beidou and Kujou Sara fit perfectly as their elemental bursts require 80 energy. Individually, Beidou's burst can provide Electro dmg off-field and Kujou Sara can maximize Raiden Shogun and Beidou's burst damage.

Kuki Shinobu is the last piece of the puzzle, providing the team with a consistent heal while benefitting from Sara's buff.
