Genshin Impact's Raiden Shogun Revealed

Raiden Shogun is an upcoming playable Electro character in Genshin Impact. She is the vessel of Baal, the Electro Archon of Inazuma. The latest beta branch of Genshin has revealed that Baal is going to be a part of Genshin Impact's 2.1 update, scheduled for September 1, 2021. In this article, we are going to list out everything you need to know about Genshin Impact Raiden Shogun, Baal.

1 - Raiden Shogun Baal's Abilities

Baal is a five-star Electro polearm user. While she was more famous for pulling her signature sword out of her cleavage, in-game, she uses it during her Elemental Skill. We have had a tough time fighting Baal boss in Genshin Impact a while ago. Below are Baal's leaked abilities, based on the information from Honey Hunter World.

Normal Attack: Origin

• Normal attack: Perform up to five consecutive polearm strikes.
• Plunging attack: Attack while in mid-air to strike the ground below, damaging any enemies in your path and dealing area of effect damage upon impact
• Charged attack: Consumes some stamina to perform an upwards slash

Elemental Skill: Transcendence - Baleful Omen

Baal deals Electro DMG to nearby foes and gives nearby party members an Eye of Stormy Judgment. This buff tracks party members and unleashes coordinated attacks alongside your active character. The attacks deal AOE Electro damage and have a cooldown of 0.9 seconds.

Elemental Burst: Secret Art - Musou Shinsetsu

Baal unleashes an AOE Electro Attack and summons her Musou Isshin sword to use for a short period of time. When in the Musou Isshin state, all her Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attacks will be converted to Electro damage and considered Elemental burst damage.

All her attacks will restore energy to party members and while in this state, she also gains resistance to interruption and immunity to Electro reaction damage.

Baal also has a special skill called Shogun Byakugen no Rin, which becomes active when party members use Elemental Bursts. It increases the damage of her Elemental Burst based on the number of "resolve stacks" she gained. Resolve stacks gain are based on the amount of energy party members consume, with the max stack being 60.

2 - Baal's Passive Talents

Baal has three passive talents that synergize pretty well with her abilities.

• Wishes Unnumbered: When nearby party members gain elemental orbs or particles, Shogun Byakugen no Rin gains two resolve stacks. This effect can occur once every three seconds
• All-Preserver: Spend 50% less Mora when ascending polearms and swords.
• Enlightened One: Each 1% above 100% energy recharge that Baal possesses gives her 0.4% Electro damage bonus, and 0.6% greater energy restoration from Musou Isshin.

3 - Baal's Constellations

• Ominous Inscription: Increases Shogun Byakugen no Rin's resolve gathering speed. Baal gains 80% more resolve from Electro characters' elemental burst and 20% from other elements.
• Pledge of Propriety: When the Musou Isshin state expires, all party members except herself gain a 30% bonus attack for 10 seconds.
• Shinkage Bygones: Increases the level of Secret Art: Musou Shinsetsu by three. The maximum upgrade level is 15.
• Steelbreaker: While in the Musou Isshin state, Baal’s attacks ignore 60% of the enemy’s defense.
• Shogun’s Descent: Increases the level of Transcendence: Baleful Omen by three. The maximum upgrade level is 15.
• Wishbearer: While in the Musou Isshin state, Baal's attacks decrease the elemental burst cooldowns of party members by one second when they hit. This effect does not apply to Baal and can only be triggered 5 times for each Musou Isshin.

4 - Genshin Impact Raiden Shogun Voice Actor / Seiyuu

Raiden Shogun's voice actors were revealed on the live stream a few days ago. Her English voice actor is Anne Yatco while the Japanese version will be provided by Miyuki Sawashiro.

• Anne Yatco is an experienced voice actor. She voiced Rosalie from "I've Been Killing Slimes for 300 Years and Maxed Out My Level", Six Eyes and Cosmo in "Beastars", and Lola Metrose from "The Hidden Dungeon Only I Can Enter".
• Miyuki Sawashiro is a very famous seiyuu who has voiced hundreds of characters from video games and animes. Popular examples include Elizabeth from Persona 3, Ivy from Soul Calibur, and Florence Nightingale from Fate/Grand Order.

5 - Raiden Shogun Banner Details

Raiden Shogun's banner is named "Reign of Serenity". It will take place in the 2.1 version of Genshin Impact, immediately after Yoimiya's arrival. It will also last for 21 days, similar to other Genshin Impact banners.

Baal, the Raiden Shogun will be the sole 5-star unit in her banner, with Kujou Sara being one of the 4-stars available. The other two 4-star units are not officially revealed yet. Kokomi has her own banner which will be released at the end of the month, 21 days after Baal's banner.
