Who Is Genshin Impact Wriothesley?

According to recent leaks, Wriothesley can be a police officer or prison warden in Fontaine. He appeared in the teaser video with the adorable character Sigewinne.

Hoyoverse may take inspiration from the noble Wriothesley family in England to name this character. The 3rd Earl of Southampton, Henry Wriothesley from this noble family is a patron of the famous playwright William Shakespeare.

Moreover, Wriothesley was seen drinking tea with Sigewinne in the video, a traditional activity of noble families in England. It makes the hypothesis that he was designed based on the model of a noble in the UK.

Vision, Rarity & Weapon Type

According to miHoYo, Wriothesley is still under development. But he is possibly a 5-star Cryo DPS character. His weapon is still unknown, but he may wield a Claymore or Polearm, according to some leaks.

If Wriothesley is a Cryo Claymore wielder, he can be the advanced version of Chongyun - a Cryo DPS in the national team of Liyue now. But Genshin players haven't got a real Cryo Polearm DPS since Shenhe is better at the supporting role.

Wriothesley appeared in a tightly-closed vest and black-red coat. There is a wolf badge on his right shoulder where his Cryo Vision can be clipped into later. It will be confirmed after his designed is unveiled before update 4.1.

Voice Actors

Joe Zieja takes up the English voice for Wriothesley while Daisuke Ono dubs his Japanese voice. You can expect his release in update 4.1 according to a leaked banner schedule after update 4.0. This Husbando character has attracted a lot of fans after the drip marketing video about Fontaine.

But then, lots of characters and fans of the game expressed their disappointment when he was leaked to come out in the standard banner. We have to wait until Hoyoverse unveils the official design and announcements about this character before the official release.
