Light Machine Guns or LMG is a rather heavy weapon class - a combination between the SMG and the AR. It is the least used weapon class in Free Fire. In the OB27 update, all 3 weapons in the LMG class get massive buffs - a "machine gun mode" that activates upon crouching.

In this article, we would list out everything you need to know about Light Machine Guns in Free Fire.

1 - List of all Light Machine Gun in Free Fire

M60

The M60 is the most basic LMG in Free Fire - it is just a slightly different assault rifle with a bigger magazine. When crouched, the M60 would get an extra 28% fire rate, which boosts its DPS greatly. You can use the M60 in mid-range just like an AR - try to get a bipod to increase its stability even further.

M249

The airdrop-only M249 is an upgraded version of the M60. Its stats are about the same level, except for its range and magazine size. With 77 range, 100 bullets in its magazine and +5 damage when crouched, you can definitely dish out enough damage to clear the whole enemy squad.

Kord

Garena has decided to add another gun to the light machine gun class. The Kord seems to be a midway choice between the M60 and the M249, with average damage, magazine size and fire rate. The best part about this gun is its special ability, however. When crouched, the Kord would get + 5% rate of fire and the ability to fire 3 shots at once.

2 - Tips and Tricks on how to use Light Machine Guns in Free Fire

Practice crouching every time you engage with these guns to make use of their machine gun mode. If possible, get Dasha's ability to ease up on the recoil, as LMGs tend to build up recoil pretty fast. Abilities that boost your movement speed like Kelly Awakening or Alok are useful as well.

It is best that you have a long-range weapon like the AWM or Woodpecker as your secondary weapon, as the LMGs are sufficient in both close and medium-range combat.

3 - Trivia

It is pretty ironic that this class is called Light Machine Gun when the real-life versions of these weapons are super heavy. In combat, these guns have to be mounted onto vehicles or fixed in a position - not carrying around by one person in Free Fire. Their ammunition is supposed to be very heavy as well.
