Genshin Impact's 3.4 update is going to come out on January 2023, bringing the new 5 star Dendro character Alhaitham. Similar to all previous 5 stars, Alhaitham is going to be released alongside his signature weapon, the 5 star sword 'Light of Foliar Incision'.
If you are going to main him, pulling for this weapon is a must. In this article, Gurugamer is going to showcase everything you need to know about Light of Foliar Incision In Genshin Impact, including Skill, Stats and Materials.
Light of Foliar Incision Skill & Stats
The Light of Foliar Incision has one of the lowest base attacks amongst 5-star swords, with the same base damage as the Primordial Jade Cutter and the Key of Khaj-Nisut. What makes this sword special is its substat of CRIT DMG. Besides it, only the Mistsplitter and Blackcliff are CRIT DMG sword, and the Light of Foliar Incision has TWICE their value - with a 88.2% bonus, this is a MUST-PULL weapon.
- Base Attack: 44.34 - 541.83
- Base Substat: Critical Damage 19.2% - 88.2%
Skill: Whitemoon Bristle
Note: the effect increases from R1 to R5
CRIT Rate is increased by 8/10/12/14/16%. When Normal Attacks deal Elemental DMG, the Foliar Sanction effect will be obtained, increasing DMG dealt by Normal Attacks and Elemental Skills by 120/140/160/180/200% of Elemental Mastery. This effect will disappear after 16 DMG instances or 12s. You can obtain Foliar Sanction once every 12s.
Light of Foliar Incision Ascension Materials
Below is a list of all the Ascension Materials you need to max out this weapon in Genshin Impact:
- 5x Copper Talisman of the Forest Dew
- 14x Iron Talisman of the Forest Dew
- 14x Silver Talisman of the Forest Dew
- 6x Gold Talisman of the Forest Dew
- 23x Desiccated Shell
- 27x Sturdy Shell
- 41x Marked Shell
- 15x Faded Red Satin
- 23x Trimmed Red Silk
- 27x Rich Red Brocade
- 225,000 Mora
Players can get the Talisman of the Forest Dew materials in the Tower of Abject Pride on Monday, Thursday and Sunday. They drop from the fungus enemies.
All 3 levels of shells drop from Lv. 60+ Blessbone Beasts. Lastly, Red Satin can be found by defeating Lv. 60+ Eremites.
Which characters can use Light of Foliar Incision?
With a raw stat bonus of 88.2% crit damage and 8% crit rate (R1), this weapon is pretty much usable on any DPS sword user (as a stat stick).
The passive works on characters whose normal attacks deal elemental damage and scales based on EM, which means only Dendro sword users should be able to use it to the fullest potential.
Alhaitham
It is rather obvious that the banner character is the best user of the weapon. Alhaitham's Skill infuses his normal attacks with Dendro, allowing players to trigger the passive. Furthermore, Alhaitham's ascension stat is also EM, which synergizes super well with it.
As both Alhaitham's Skill and Burst can infuse him, players should be able to trigger the sword's skill as soon as the cooldown ends.
Keqing
Alhaitham has a very similar playstyle to Keqing, and because of that, Keqing can actually use his weapon just fine. Her infusion can trigger the passive to deal extra damage.
This should be the most effective in a Dendro + Electro (Aggravate) lineup, where Keqing builds a bit of EM to increase her Aggravate damage.
Ayaka
Ayaka can gain Cryo infusion after sprinting, which means she can trigger the passive at any time. This allows her to gain extra damage from the Light of Foliar Incision fairly easily. However, Ayaka usually does not build much EM so the bonus won't be that big.
Ayato
Ayato's Skill gives his normal attacks a Hydro infusion. The Light of Foliar Incision should be just as good on him as his signature weapon Haran Geppaku Futsu.
Nilou
Nilou's Skill infuses her Normal attacks with Hydro. If players already got good HP artifacts on Nilou but do not have much CRIT DMG yet, the Light of Foliar Incision should be a competitive option.
Additionally, as Nilou always plays in a Bloom team due to her passive, her EM should be at a decently high level to support the weapon.
How strong is Alhaitham?
Alhaitham's whole kit is geared toward dealing crazy Dendro infusion damage. He has some very high scaling and should be the best Dendro DPS character yet. If players want to build a spread team, pulling for him is a must.
His gameplay revolves around summoning 3 Chisel-Light Mirrors with his skill and charged attack (need ascension passive 1). Afterward, he can fire his Burst, which can deal up to 10 instances of damage if there are 3 Mirrors on the field. At level 10, each damage instance deals 218.88% ATK + 437.76% Elemental Mastery as Dendro damage.
This number is broken and he is likely to get nerfed in the release version.
