Free Fire OB26 has finally been released, bringing a lot of changes to everything, including a brand new character named Shirou 'The Cobra'. However, compared to the original version of the character in Advance Server, the release version is much weaker.

In this article, we would analyze the various changes to the character.

1 - About Shirou's design change

Comparing to the Advance version, Shirou get a new moniker "the Cobra". This is probably an attempt to make him more "cool and edgy" as his original design is just average (using the same style as the other "street" character in Free Fire (Steffie, Dasha). However, a delivery boy with "the cobra" as a nickname just sounds ridiculous.

2 - New version of the ability

Reveal time: 6s, Detection Radius: 80 meters.

  • Level 1: 50% additional armor penetration damage with a cooldown of 35 seconds.
  • Level 2: 58% additional armor penetration damage with a cooldown of 34 seconds.
  • Level 3: 67% additional armor penetration damage with a cooldown of 32 seconds.
  • Level 4: 77% additional armor penetration damage with a cooldown of 29 seconds.
  • Level 5: 88% additional armor penetration damage with a cooldown of 25 seconds.
  • Level 6: 100% additional armor penetration damage with a cooldown of 20 seconds.

2 - Analysis of the nerf

Shiro's ability is a passive skill named "Damage Delivered". This is somewhat related to his background of being a Delivery Boy.

Generally, the skill would tag an enemy who hit Shirou, revealing their location and the first hit scored against them would ignore all armor. The original version has a detection range of 50 to 100 meters, tag duration of 3 to 8 seconds and 10 seconds cooldown.

however, after receiving feedback from players - Garena has decided to improve the various weaknesses (low duration, low range) of the skill and rebalance the aspects that are too strong (range, CD). However, this results in a much weaker character overall comparing to the previous version.

Overall, the skill would be easier to use at early levels now - with a range of 80 and 6s durations right from the start. However, it is much worse in later levels - as the maximum range was reduced from 100 to 80 meters, duration from 8 to 6, and cooldown doubled from 10 to 20.
