PUBG Mobile was the biggest esports title in India with a huge player base, many strong teams, and big organizations. However, it was banned by the Indian government in September 2020 because the game is associate with Tencent, a Chinese gaming company, basically killed the game in India. Ever since then, PUBG Mobile fans have been waiting for the day PUBG Mobile approved in India again.

While Krafton has done everything from cutting ties with Tencent to developing an Indian version for PUBG Mobile, the game still not get approved by the Indian government. A PUBG Mobile India trailer was released in November 2020, which gave fans some hope but then the game was still not released.

Sean Hyunil Sohn, Krafton's Head of corporate development, admitted at the 2021 India Gaming conference in January that they don't know when PUBG will be re-released in India because the Indian government hasn't approved it yet.

PUBG Mobile Approved In India By The Government

GodNixon, a popular PUBG Mobile content creator, has just shared new information that the Indian government has given a "green signal" to the return of PUBG Mobile in India. In one of his videos titled "PUBG Mobile India Update! Government Approved" he said:

 "According to sources, the government has given the green signal for the comeback of PUBG Mobile. However, the exact release date nor the month haven't been finalized, but the game will indeed be returning. Some of the popular content creators, including Ghatak, had posted stories, dropping hints regarding the return."

ScoutOP, a popular PUBG Mobile pro player and YouTuber, also stated on his stream that he believed that PUBG Mobile has been approved by the government but he was not 100% sure about it.

GHATAK, the leader of the PUBG Mobile team, TSM Entity, also tweeted on his social media that PUBG Mobile will come back in two months.

So, is this another false hope for PUBG Mobile lovers or PUBG Mobile is actually coming back to India? We don't know if PUBG Mobile approved in India yet and we will have to wait just like everybody else. Nonetheless, it is still quite great news for PUBG Mobile fans in India who are waiting for the return of the game.

When a player creates a new character in PUBG Mobile India, in the character screen, the character will wear default clothes instead of being naked in the Global version. This is to make the game more suitable for younger players.

Green Hit Effect

When you shot a player, instead of a red blood splashing effect, there will be a green hit effect instead, making the game more family-friendly.
