A good crosshair placement will allow you to aim at your enemy with the least amount of travel distance. In other words, your enemy will move into your crosshair instead of you aiming at them, all you have to do is to pull the trigger.

What is a good crosshair placement?

This will require you to a general understanding of the map you are playing. You need to know where the enemy might be coming from and keep your crosshair at the head level of them. This seems like an extremely simple rule but many people who play the game actually don't know this or never actively think about it.
