The gaming industry hasn't gone anywhere but up in recent times. Alltopeverything.com has just released a report, saying the video gaming industry broke records in 2020, bringing over 130 billion USD.

The report also revealed the top 10 biggest gaming corporations on the face of the Earth in 2021. Let's check them out!

#1 - Sony

Taking the first place is the Japanese giant. Sony maintained its number one spot with over 25 billion USD in revenue. The company released its fifth version of the popular gaming console, the PlayStation 5, selling more than 6 million units in March alone.

#2 - Tencent

In the second place, we have the Shenzen-based conglomerate. The world's largest video game vendor made 13.9 billion USD in 2020 thanks to Honor of Kings (a MOBA popular in China) and PUBG Mobile (Battle Royale game).

#4 - Microsoft

This may come as a surprise for some, but the tech giant Microsoft is also the fourth-largest gaming company globally. Earning over $11.6 billion in gaming revenues from the newly launched Xbox Series X/S, Microsoft could not be happier. The company also owns Minecraft, one of the most successful games of all time.

#5 - Activision Blizzard

Coming in 5th place is the California-based company, Activision Blizzard. They earn more than 8.1 billion USD in 2020 from popular games like Call of Duty, World of Warcraft, and Overwatch. And let's not forget Call of Duty: Mobile, one of the most successful mobile games of 2020.

#6 - Electronic Arts

EA secured sixth place with 5.5 billion USD in earnings. The company invests mostly in sports video games, with big titles like the FIFA series as the most successful ones. The company also owns a hit Battle Royale game - Apex Legends.

Next is the company behind the development of the Unreal Engine (on which Fortnite and PUBG Mobile run). Epic Games, founded in 1991, is based in North Carolina, USA. The company earned a fair share of the market, making around 4.2 billion USD in revenues.

#8 - Take-Two Interactive

This is the New York-based corporation that owns two popular game labels, Rockstar Games and 2K. World-renowned titles such as Grand Theft Auto and NBA 2K bring the company more than 3.1 billion USD last year.

#9 - SegaSammy

Founded in 2004 through the merger of Sega and Sammy Corporation, SegaSammy is now the world's ninth-largest game company. They earned around 2.3 billion USD in revenue thanks to the newly-launched title, Total War Saga: Troy.
