Asterix & Obelix XXL 3: The Crystal Menhir takes the settings of the medieval world - 50 B.C. to be specific. The entire world is now under the reign of the Romans, and the only place left with their own authorities is Gauls - where innocent people live with their own values and beliefs. Holding their lines, the people here have to suffer a lot from the surround of Romans.

However, The Romans' lives are not easy either, and the situation stays in the status quo for a while. Hence, villagers of the small Armorican village are experiencing their peace, doing ordinary business. The two heroes of this game - Asterix and Obelix - hunt bears for the living, while the fishmongers shout at each other in the eyes of the village chief patrolling around the village.

Gameplay features

Strange as it might sounds, Asterix & Obelix XXL 3: The Crystal Menhir is the first time in the saga that you can invite your friend in and take control of two characters cooperatively. The game features a familiar story in the Asterix saga, where you will not only find the two protagonists but also Getafix, Vitalstatistix, Cacofonix, and other new characters as well. Hopefully, you have a good time spelling their names!

Speaking more about its gameplay, Asterix & Obelix XXL 3: The Crystal Menhir is an action-adventure game, where you'll control the Asterix and Obelix in the top-down perspective. Your task is very simple, using your weapons and take on every enemy stand in front of you. The Crystal Menhirs help you a lot, as they provide a lot of useful abilities for your adventure.

To be more specific, the Stone one will unleash shockwave when Obelix smashes it to the ground, the Ice one slowdowns enemies and even freeze some devices, the Fire one sets your enemies on fire and light up the dark environment, and the Magnetic one will attract metal projectiles, including both enemies' armors and items!
